Long time since I've posted my work on here. I recently treated myself to the Marine Strikeforce kit, since I found it on a third-party site for very good value. Here's my progress:

Captain and a couple of the Tac Marines. They've been blu-tacked onto the Drop Pod for this photoshoot, I plan on doing the bases first before attaching them.

Alternate angle of the above image.

Solo shot of the Captain. Game-wise he's armed with the Burning Blade and Shield Eternal

Converted Drop Pod. I wanted to go for an alternate design, something a bit more unusual. The interior is rather cramped so I'll be placing the central console and possibly the harnesses inside, and I'll look for another way to mount the Storm Bolter. In addition, it looks like a scaled-down version of Forge World's ungodly-expensive Drop Pod so that's a nice touch.

I'm still wondering what Chapter to go with though. I'm currently thinking of going for Red Scorpions or 2nd Edition-style Ultramarines. Any suggestions on what Chapter I should do are encouraged as long as they don't include the following:

1: They're not white or a very pale colour, reason being that I'll be undercoating these guys black and it'll be a pain in the arse to work it up to white good enough as well as en-mass.

2: They're not too garish. While I have a fondness for the blue/yellow classic Ultramarine scheme I'd rather not go for something very colourful like Salamanders or Imperial Fists.

So any suggestions on Chapter as well as thoughts on the photos above are more than welcome.

Thanks for looking

Red scorpions or stone sentinals

I'm leaning more towards Red Scorpions, the Stone Sentinels look a bit too plain for my tastes.

I'm curious as to how you can consider the Salamanders 'garish'. Considering, as you say, the bright yellow Imperial Fists, red Blood Angels, Sea blue Space Wolves and Royal blue Ultramarines, I often think that the Salamanders green can be grouped in with the more sensible chapters - provided it's not neon or lime green of course. However, regarding them I'm a little biased.

Anyway, if you're looking for a more sombre scheme, how about the Carcharadons (Space Sharks - Grey/Black scheme), Raven Guard (Black/Red Trim), Iron Hands (Black/Silver/White iconography), Silver Skulls(Dull Gun metal Silver), Raptors (Drab Olive Green) or Dark Angels (Deep Green, with Black for Ravenwing). Anyway, just some ideas to get you going. Why don't you head over to Lexicanum - they have a list of Chapters by image that may help - here's the links:

I'd just draw your attention to the Salamanders pic - not too gaudy for your tastes?

Warpig1815 said it pretty well. I'll through in Crimson Fists, dark blue with crimson fist.
