So there's a guy at my FLGS who runs a flying circus with 2 daemon princes and a fate weaver. At higher points he also runs a blood thirster. I just played a game as my space marines and it didn't go well... I had some very poor dice rolls and he made literally every save, but either way they seem super strong. They're good at close combat, powers to buff themselves/malediction opponent, and shoot 20 shots before assaulting.

Does anybody have any advice on downing them in general? Or specifically with space marines?

Come again?

They are my bulwark against the Terror. They are the Defenders of Humanity. They are my Space Marines, and they shall know no fear.

Wouldn't that mean no Iron Arm? Seems like a silly thing to do.

Assuming you mean 3 Warp Charges expended for the spell.

The Lash gives them a bunch of Str 6 shooting.

I may have been exaggerating about the actual number, but try can still buff and shoot something with flickering fire. They are all mastery level 3 or 4.

3 is the highest they can go, iirc, but I get the point.

If he runs warp-forged armor on them (3+ armor save), and he probably does, the best tool SM have against them are grav guns. Bikers should clean them up soundly - ground them with TL bolter fire, end them with grav guns that care not for Iron Arm shenanigans. Otherwise - ground with tac bolters and transports' stormbolters, hammer them with lascannons. Engage with Chapter Master Vanilla Ice (Bike/AA/TH/SE) who WILL win in CC against one. Or he should, anyway.

When/if possible, engage Kairos in CC. He's terrible and will lose in CC.

Alternatively, gun down the meager troops a Circus list is forced to bring and avoid the princes - win on objectives.

Combat squading also helps, outside of a kill point game you want him to wipe you out when he lands to charge you. That way he ends up exposed on the ground to get shot at.
