Hi everyone I am really having a problem using the Vallejo chipping medium and wanted to get some advice from people who have used it with success.

I have done what the instructions have said and applied my primer then chipping medium then finally my top layer. Now the problem is that when I wet it and try to create the chipping effect it just completely peels the paint of.

Any help or advise would be appreciated

Many thanks Stuart

Put down some gloss before you apply the chipping medium.

NO! Do not do this.

A couple of things, what type of paint? How long is the medium being left to dry? How are you applying the medium?

Generally speaking, it is best to apply the medium over a flat coat of paint. Also, the medium will come of pretty easy, you need to use a gentle touch to take it off, not a scrubbing motion.

Here is a tutorial I did over on the Privateer Press forums about using chipping fluid, I am using AK Interactive(which is no longer available) but the Vallejo stuff is AK stuff re-branded. Take a look;

The paint I'm using on top of the medium is valley model air. I had left it to dry over night. I had applied it using an airbrush.

Cheers I have had a look through your tutorial so will give it another try.
