I am usually a GK player but for a tournament i want to try to ally with SW to improve my alphastrike (GH in pods are so much cheaper then Interceptors for an alphastrike...)
So i started reading on SW tips and classic units.
I almost always see mark of the wulfen on the GH squads, is it really so usefully? What makes it so usefully? it is still 15pts for a single guy boost who remains not so great (i might have missed something i guess)

The list i want to try is the following :
- Coteaz
- 4 * 3 Acolytes in psyback
- 3 DK with teleporter and heavy incinerator
- 2 R Priests with Jaws
- 2 * 10 GH in pods with 2 melta
- 8 WG with combi melta in pods

if i need to find the points for Mark of the Wulfen i want to make sure it will be usefull in my plan of a huge alphastrike

I would say you dont want MotW in your list. I love the equipment but it grants nothing to the alpha strike. it should be used together with banner (reroll number of attacks you get on top of hits anf wounds) for units that want to get into assault.

In your case your alpha strikers will be blasted of the board before and you probably end up paying for somthing that has less than 50% chans of being used

Mark of the wulfen gives you d6 +1 if memory serves (or its just d6) it also give those attacks rending. Compared to a power weapon for the same price only ap3 and only ever max 3 attacks. So generally worth it if you have the points and plan to be in CC. Granted you can probably spend those points better elsewhere.

Ok i agree then it would not be usefull especially as i have to spend the points also on the standard for it to be efficient.

I was mistaking it for the mark that enabled rerolls on monstrous creatures and thus thought it was not worth it on a single guy.
