I'm planning a conversion for a friend and want to build him a CSM Nurgle Lord riding a palanquin.
Since, at the time, I had no idea what a 'palanquin' was I thought about how to represent this. I've since learned what a palanquin is and realise that I kinda missed the nail on this one but none-the-less I wish to further conceptualise the toad idea.
Now where I'm from there is an abundance of large, ugly, poisonous toads hopping around, particularly during summer.
I felt it appropriate to further glorify this iconic pest by having the palanquin toad look similar in breed to the Cane Toad

So far my best bet is; http://www.tengumodels.co.uk/userimages/Fantasy(2808751).htm

Which comes on a 40mm base. It is close enough in shape to a cane toad plus I would be sculpting additional details onto it. I am concerned though that it will be too small under a Chaos Lord's boots.
If anyone knows any more about this model's size or even other (better) toad sculpts I could potentially use I would be very appreciative

I should mention that the FW nurgle toads are really unappealing and I kinda wish they didn't exist.

Thanks in advance,
Peace

If you're worried he won't fit you could build him a platform atop the Toad.

A good idea, though I was wanting to build the lord standing on the toad's back, possibly holding onto a chain attached to the back of the toad's head.
...probably by a hook or something gruesome.

I dunno if this is any help or inspiring but I immediately thought of the PP Skorne Rasheth model from the hordes range.
Could be worth a look http://privateerpress.com/hordes/gallery/skorne/warlocks/dominar-rasheth
I don't know if you can bits order just the slave guys and the disk?

I totally see how that would make a good Nurgle Lord on a Palanquin. Unfortunately it doesn't match up with what I am attempting to create, though I do appreciate the input

Yeah, sorry about that it was just the first thing that game to mind, I've wanted to use it for that purpose for a while now. Those agonizers have a very amphibious feel to me.
Perhaps try a good quality toy manufacturer like Schleich.
I've often seen their models used as they are nicely detailed, fairly hard plastic and some of their sculpts come in a range of sizes.
I'm sure I've seen a frog or toad from them before.

Something like that, however not the toads from FW.
I should let it be known, for those who care, that ALL my 40k projects have been sidelined due to unexpected life events that I need to sort out.
Worry not for I will always have a need to vent my creativity and 40k will always be my favourite manner in which to do so.
