I play against Necrons most usually. This list should deal with pretty much anything thrown at it, and will add up to about 2000 points.
There will be no Elites choices in this list, I think all Guard players know why. But if you have arguments against that, please tell!

What do you guys think of this list?

I think you need to add up your points again. so you have your command squad, 6 vet squads in chimeras, 3 plasma , 3 melta, a banewolf, 2 vendettas, then 3 heavy slots where you have 2 standard battle tanks and the last one is whatever you want?

Based on you trying to get to 2k you are over in points and would need to drop something, my choice would be either the bane wolf or a battle tank, preferably the bane wolf as it requires you to get extremely close to your opponent.

With a Vanquisher, this list would be 2065 points, which is the Leman Russ I would be using most often. I did say it would be AROUND 2000 points.

If I did want to take off those extra points, I would be a MeltaVet squad.

My opponent plays Necrons, as aforementioned, and he attempts to get as close as possible, as many of his weapons has a range of 24" or so.

The Leman Russ Multiple Choice is there to add flexibility to the list before a battle.

I would stick with the vanquisher so the melta vets would probably be best to go. Just try and use the points to upgrade it a little because a vanquisher with just a lascannon is alright but once you add MM or PC sponsons you truly make that tank a killing machine that your opponent will be worried about.

After you drop the Melta vets and upgrade the vanquisher see how many points you have left and maybe you can upgrade one of the standard LRBT's to a better variant as well. I really like the LRBT but It can have its downfalls.

I know the elites are bad for the IG, but we got Marbo.

You ahve alot of Plasma, which are quite decent, but still, a few Get hot and you lose most of your hitting power.

I would invested in a few autocannons
