Hey, finished (for now) one of my favourite models in the guard range, well... my favourite commissar at the very least, who will go along with my fledgling painted Imperial guard force. Hope you guys like.

Cheers guys,
I must agree too, the pictures really show a lot that’s missed on the model in real life, bits of fluff etc.

In real life the eyes are more subtle they don’t normally have light directly on them from taking the picture, and i believe those are his eye lids. His cap kinda covers the eyes.
However I’ve recently got some kickass brushes and i feel up for going in and giving him some eyeballs.

Stay tuned for commissar 2.0 now with added sight.

I wouldnt even go as far as to wide eye him, I like the effect. It almost looks as if he is sleep deprived, weeks of constant war take their tole and even the mightest commissar is still human. Fighting through the exhaustion is the expression i got here, and i think it gives the model a ton of feel, but what do i know XD

Never cared for the particular model I've always felt the fist was way over done for what is actually wielding it. I shall stick with the Harrison Ford Commissar till I am plant a Lord Commissar on a bike duel wielding plasma pistols while leaping into the air.

The paint job though definitely does the model justice though.

How's he reading braille with a power fist and one hand?

Actually, don't answer that

My first thought was an extremely flexible thumb,... then the implications of what you implied sunk in...

V2 is fantastic! He looks full of righteous fury, reading a speech for the troops right before they go into battle. You really captured the spirit of this very characterful miniature, and it's a very solid paintjob with good highlights. I'm not a good enough painter to tell you what you can improve on.

All I can say about painting is that VMC tastes much better than VMA... especially black...

Wow he's a beauty . I like the scare well done.

The only poorly painted miniature is the one that is not painted.
