^Terminator armors. Not shown there is the Sons of Horus/Luna Wolves specific armor known as "Justaerin," which is just modified Cataprachtii armor.
As for Power Armor, Mks. 2-4 were used heavily in that time frame. Mks. 5 and beyond didn't start seeing mass production (to the best of my knowledge) until after Teh Emprah was a corpse on the throne.

You're not making much sense dude. Just buy some models you like and use them in your army.
If you're playing Ultramarines, then just use them as a tactical, assault or devastator squad if they're in power armour, as appropriate, or as a Terminator Tactical or Assault squad if they're wearing TDA.

I wasnt asking how to play them or use them i was asking which version of the armor i should use, Automatically Appended Next Post: I realize it didnt make much sense so sorry for that, but im more of a painter that plays every once in a while for fun. So instead of doing tons of reading to pose a more intelligent question I came here and gave it the old hail mary. and it worked

Ultramarines pre-heresy/Great Crusade would most likely be running Mk II/Mk III as well as Mk IV power armors. Heresy would be Everything from Mk II-MkVI, and post Heresy would be predominately Mk VI/MkVII. Phobos pattern bolters for the Mk II/MkIII, Tigrus Pattern for MkIV, Umbra Pattern with Mk V/MkVI (matches the bolters from the Rogue Trader era plastics).
Terminator armor? Cataphractii if you're going for Great Crusade, Cataphractii, Tartaros and Indomitus in Heresy/post Heresy.
It really is up to you, especially if you're painting them as Ultramarines.

ultra marines, mainly used there own version of pre heresy armour, called preator pattarn power armour, they didnt have access to mkIV armour the preator was equivilent to it any way, for pre heresy ultramrines it depends, either a mix of mk123 and 5 for shoulderpads just gs rims, or for preator, use mk 7 shoulders, mk4/7 legs, mk 7 chest, or mk 5 mk 7 backpack arms can be anything, not mk4 helmets are very nights templer thing,
google preator pattern power armour for actual pics

If you're looking for anything 40k related then Lexicanum 40k is a good place to start.
Here is Lexicanum's page on Power Armour. Hopefully it should answer some of your questions.
Valeyard, where did you get that info about the preator armour? I can't find that mentioned anywhere.
