If any of these rumoured model releases happen I'l be a happy bunny!
Especially the starter set with ard boys, also plastic meganobs, tankbustas, komandos or flash gitz would all be very welcome.
Would be perfect to expand the Ork's I started a while back. Am encourage me to finish painting them lol (about 50% painted I guess)
Rules dont bother me all that much as I dont play often but it'd be nice if theyre not broken somehow

Old Ork rumours are posted in the old Ork rumour thread:
http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/0/549534.page
The supposed content of the 40k starter box was posted in the "7th edition 40k" rumour thread:
http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/450/570012.page#6480675
That said, BOLS and natfka currently have a credibility on 40k rumours that is below random guessing.

To summarize:
The rumors include a plastic remake of I think every single ork model that was metal (Weirdboy, Big Mek, ...) missing (flash gitz, 'ard boys) or with only limited options available (coptaz).
Tons of new contradicting rules and more new units than has been released for any 4 other armies combined.
Which sounds to me like a lot of wishlisting to bump visitor counts.

I think ForgeWorld said those sketches were meant to encourage buying FW kits for conversion, some thing that didn't happen.

Which kit would that be? I can't see anything in the FW range that would be a good source for buggies and butchering a 100 GBP Kill tank for conversion parts seems a bit of a sacrilege.

On the rule rumour regarding Boyz cost, yeah I'd be happy with that. Makes sluggas a more viable choice. Will see tho.
As for the new model rumours...
The Buggy kit has been out since about what, 95-6 (?) not long after I started the hobby with the Traks coming out in '97 in Gorkamorka. Deffkoptas are that old as well being the old Dregmek Blitzkart GM Digganob sculpt. I'd definitely expect them to be redone as they're pretty key units.
After that, plastic Meganobz would be hugely popular I'm sure. I do love those old 3rd Ed sculpts but they are getting on now obviously.
Redoing big gunz makes sense too as again they're old repurposed sculpts done in finecast. Orks need a decent ground-based AA option without going to FW stuff (or incorporating the larger FW artillery models into the 'Dex if the rumoured FW & GW site merger takes place before then).
New character clampacks are needed seeing as there's still metal models in the list. I'd believe a plastic Warboss before a Weirdboy as a result. That apart it depends how much finecast they want to remove and how many 3rd Ed sculpts they want to replace (Ghazzy?)
It's after that that things get a bit more wish-listy I reckon. If they get rid of the finecast models altogether from the Ork list, I'd have suspected a Tankbustas/Kommandos dual purpose kit, unless the Kommandos are just kept around via the FW conversion set. No doubt Flash Gitz need some love regarding the rules tho, so while I'd suspect they're better kept off the model list for the kitbash & convert brigade to have a crack at, I suppose it could happen.
As an old Epic Titan Legions guy, the Gutrippa gun/flakwagon suggestion is somewhat exciting and plays into this old Epic narrative of the rumoured upcoming release for Knights, and the recent Nid release bringing back Exocrines & Haruspexes, both of which were Epic models the same scale as Gutrippas et al from the old vehicle squad support card list. As the release's new 'big toy' I suppose it could happen but will believe it when I see it. I'll throw one in here though - I found it interesting to note that FW took down the BattleFortress not so long ago, which makes me wonder if there's the tiniest chance we could be in for one of those instead. Now *THAT* would be something I'd definitely open up the wallet for.
As for the starter set... said it before it seems unlikely but would welcome it, even if I don't personally need anything from it besides the fortification. Give me a Rok though and I'll give you my money, lol.

I think we're better off closing this for the moment.
Many thanks for the thought, time and effort anyway
Hopefully we'll have something more concrete for our greenskin enthusiasts sooner rather than later.
But lets' get Imperial Guard/whateverthey'recallednow out the way first then...
