Just running some ideas around:

Daemon Prince
Wings, Power Armour, Nurgle

20 Cultists
20 Cultists with autogun

2 Forgefiends with Triple Plasma
1 Obliterator

Aegis Defence Line with Quad Gun

Thoughts? Could I actually beat someone with this?

Doesn' look bad, but have fun when you roll three 1s and destroy your own Forgefeind (it has happened). I would swap the two plasmas for hades autocannons on at least one forgefeind, and would probably swap one Forgefeind for a Heldrake. This said, I still think winning would be a possibility (provided you don't roll too many 1s for gets hot!)

Forgefiend
Triple Plas

Aegis w Quad Gun

This gives me 2 Flyers, 2+ cover saves on the cultists who are at LD 10 on my objective.

Why would they have a 2+ cover save? Best I can see is going to ground behind the ADL which would give you a 3+

I believe the special rule for Defence Line is that units that Go to Ground behind it gain a 2+ to their cover save.

Looks good, but remember against missile broadsides, that ADL means nothing. I always have a difficult time beating Tau in general as CSM

I don't think you really need to worry about killing your own Forgefiends due to Gets Hot. The chances of them losing a HP is 1/18 assuming you get an Inv save for Gets Hot. The chances of them regaining that HP is 1/3 from It Will Not Die.
