Hi Dakka,

I would appreciate any tips to make my armylist more competitive vs. 'nids.

Space Marines:

Chapter Tactics: Ultramarines

HQ: Terminator Captain with shield eternal and thunder hammer - 185

Elites: 10 x Sternguard with 10 combi-plasmas in a drop pod with Deathwind Launcher - 380
5 x Terminator with TH/SS - 225

Troops: 10 x marines with flamer and HB - 155
10 x marines with flamer and HB - 155

Heavy Support: Stormraven with Assault cannon Multimelta and Hurricane bolters - 235
Whirlwind x 2 - 130

Imperial Guard:

HQ: Lord Commissar with CC weapon and Boltpistol -70

Troops: 10 x vets in chimera. 2 x Flamers and Heavy flamer of chimera hull (demolitions) -165

Heavy Support: Leman Russ with hull mounted HB -150

1850

Sternguard are to drop into the MCs and roast them with combat squaded plasma shots on turn 1.
Any sternguard left after turn one, fire at any nids with their specialist ammo.

Captain and terminators come in via the Stormraven to take one any MCs still left on the board.

Leman Russ and Whirlwinds are to drop Pie-Plates on the swarms and maybe the LR can insta-kill a few warriors/rippers.

The Troops go take objectives and rip into the endless swarm with flames and solid ammo- / Las-shots

What do you think?

Any comments are appreciated.

Cheers,
Phi-666

Looks pretty solid; I'd replace the Captain for a Chapter Master (goes well with Shield Eternal and you can move and still use Orbital Bombardment due to TDA) and also replace the Hammernators for regular terminators as your 2+/3++ EW CM leading the squad can tank any wounds sustained in close combat from the big gribblies, and Tyranids arent really known for their low AP shooting, and you could use the additional dakka.

I'd also consider taking a Leman Russ Eradicator instead of the LRBT as its pie plate ignores cover (including any shroud bubbles generated by venomthropes) and shoot everything at normal BS if you stay still, unlike the regular Russ. In which case also take the HB side sponsons.

GW is scared of girls. Why do you think they have so much trouble sculpting attractive female models? Because girls have cooties and the staff at GW don't like looking at them for too long because it makes them feel funny in their naughty place.
