Hey guys, I was just wondering what the "Auto Include" units are for the Iron Hands are, I have a heap of Marines so if you guys could help me out with some tactics and lists and stuff that would be great. Thanks.

I was looking for like 2000 point lists.

Do you play with forgeworld, stronghold assault, clan rakuaan supplement, and/or escalation?

The overall answer is vehicles, lots of vehicles. What vehicles? Well flyers and AV13+ vehicles will leverage the most out of your IWND CT. Therefore if playing without forgeworld I would say stormravens and stromtalons for an aircav style list with TAC squads to keep you in the game until turn 2 and to score from the ravens. Also an ADL or bastion with comms relay to get the flyers in.

With forgeworld and a very large wallet you can create a very nice list with contemptor mortis dreads and whirldwind scorpius.

Iron Hand bikers can also make excellent allies for other bike lists due to the shield eternal, IWND, FnP, artificer armour, bike, chapter master. Nasty.

Well, at 2k and single force org, you can run an AV wall to be feared. Outside of Forgeworld, I hashed out something like this:

Chapter Master Vanilla Ice
-Bike, TH, SE, AA

2x TH/SS Termy squads
-2x LRCs w/MM Dedicated

3x Grav Bike Squads w/ combi

3x Predators
-Autocannon/Las Sponons

Use the LRCs as bookends for a Predator wall, DS Termies or put them in their LRs, Hide the CH & Co. behind the armor wall or ride them ahead to confer cover to the armor wall.

They are my bulwark against the Terror. They are the Defenders of Humanity. They are my Space Marines, and they shall know no fear.

Yeah, I was thinking something like.

Chapter Master w/ AA, SE, Bike, TH

1x TH/SS

2x 10 marines with Rhinos

Stormtalon
Bikes

Stormraven
Dev Centurions
Vindicator

I like something along the lines of ObsidianKatana's list, but I prefer Vindicators in place of the Preds, and try to grab some DA allies so you can put Power Fields riding bikes behind the Tankwall, doubling its survivability.

Also, competitively speaking, might as well play Clan Raukaan, They have cooler Warlord Traits, a Gorgon's Chain for slightly improved Shield Eternal CM, and an Ironstone for 4+ IWND rolls/allowing IWND to also fix Immobilized and Weapon Destroyed.

Go Tankwall, and throw in DA allies and use Clan Raukaan; the result is a bunch of AV13+ tanks with 4+ invuls, smoke launchers for night fight, and 4+ IWND rolls, plus any attendant Techmarines. That's a hard list to crack.

Everyone clearly knows that Iron Hands is the Space Marine army to play Hero Hammer with. The best character in the entire book, surprisingly, is not one that came in the codex, but one that was created by us: the internet.

Essentially, a CM with A bike, Shield Eternal, Artificer Armor and a Thunder Hammer. Melta Bombs/Digital Weapons optional if you have the points. Drop the Orbital Bombardment first turn, since you are relentless on that bike of yours.

Make sure to bring enough support with him; otherwise he'll just get bogged down forever when someone throws a mob of Boyz or some other speed bump to tie him up for the entire game. You can mass tanks, or you can do the cheese with the DA Allies below... and mass tanks. Or you can play Hero Hammer; a 6+++ and IWND is pretty swanky for a character to have.

Hahahahahahahaha goddamnit that is one NASTY build, especially toward the end. Clan Raukaan + Sallies with FW Harath Shen + lucky roll on Clan Raukaan Warlord Trait table to get the +1FNP is insanity. 2++ FNP and you get to re-roll 1s due to Harath Shen's "Master of Chirurgery"? Oh lawd. Oh and Ironstone for 4+ IWND.

Where in Shen's rule does say he improves FnP rolls? It only says he can re-roll 1s.

AI & BFG: / BMG: Mr. Freeze, Deathstroke / Battletech: SR, OWA / Fallout Factions: BoS / HGB: Caprice / Malifaux: Arcanists, Guild, Outcasts / MCP: Mutants / SAGA: Ordensstaat / SW Legion: CIS / WWX: Union

My bad.

Iron Hands = 6+ FnP

Harath Shen = 5+FnP

Clan Raukaan Gorgon Chain = +1 FnP, so 4+

Clan Raukaan Warlord Trait = +1 FnP, so 3+

re-roll ones, so "technically" 2+ FnP as you can only fail the roll on a 2, or on a 1 and then a 1 or 2.

So far my IH running out of the supplement have done fairly well. In most of my games I have a squad of tac termies in a redeemer. Attached to them is a CM with CF, traitor's bane, and chains. It is a superb unit for soaking firepower, as they can just sit there with 2+/5++/6+++ and soak wounds when they finally get out of their 'raider.

Another thing I've been doing is meching up more than I ever did with my CSM. usually 3 tactical squads [I normally play at 1500-1750], one in a rhino, one in a drop pod, and one combat squadded between sitting on an objective & providing lascannon support, and the other going up to take objectives in a razorback [normally las/plas or TL-AC] with a techmarine attached to them. I then normally fill out the rest of my list with a dreadnought or two, with my contemptor [standard build fist w/ plasma, kheres, BS5 upgrade] normally taking a fair amount of fire and not caring at all about it. I've been trying to find another place or two to put in more techmarines and possibly a librarian to make use of the awesome that is the midforge stave.

Every game so far the 10th has performed above expectations, as for some reason my dice absolutely love rolling 6's on thems FNP tests. Biggest thing for me has been playing a sort of turn-by-turn strategy, keeping my army relatively close together, systematically destroying any troops first, then moving on to any hard hitting CC elements while my dreadnoughts, razorback, and lascannon combat squad go after armor. It's worked well so far but I expect my buddies are devising strategies to beat that.

FYI my group mostly consists of the multitude variants of MEQ (all but BA), along with some orks, eldar and tau.

You were correct. Harath Shen's "Master of Chirurgery" grants a 4+ FNP.

Master of Chirurgery: "Such is a Master Apothecary’s skills that any failed Feel No Pain rolls taken as a result of their Narthecium rule that roll a ‘1’ may be re-rolled."

Not really 4+ FnP, but close.

I'm looking at the downloadable pdf off Forgeworld. Unless that changed since I last got it. What are you getting it from?

Oh I didnt know about that one.

In that case yours is the updated version and you can no longer re-roll 1s on FnP, but have a 4+ FnP

which is exactly why you cant get him on a bike.

You could still have them all show up on turn 1 via drop pod deep strike though.

The sickest Iron Hands list I've faced is at my LGS where a guy fields this. It almost seems unfair ...

Iron Tau

250: Chapter Master; Artificier Armour; Shield Eternal; Power Fist; Auspex; Bike -- Iron Hands
135: Commander; Command and Control Node; Multi-spectrum Suite; Puretiode Engram Chip -- Tau

210: Riptide; Ion Accelerator; TL Fusion; Velocity Tracker; Early Warning Override

145: 5 Bikers: 2 Graviton Guns; Combi-Graviton -- Iron Hands
140: 5 Tactical Marines; Plasma Cannon; Razorback; Heavy Bolter -- Iron Hands
140: 5 Tactical Marines; Plasma Cannon; Razorback; Heavy Bolter -- Iron Hands
096: 13 Kroot Snipers; Kroot Hound -- Tau
096: 13 Kroot Snipers; Kroot Hound -- Tau

125: Storm Talon; TL Assault Cannon; Skyhammer Missile -- Iron Hands

340: 4 Devastator Centurions;  3 Grav-Cannons; 1 Lascannon; Omniscope -- Iron Hands

70: Aegis Defense Line; Comms Relay

(1750)

As you might imagine turn two gets very nasty indeed. There are just too many targets that need to be dealt with.
