Ok so this might sound like a stupid question but hear me out
in the IG Codex Vendetta (and Valkyrie) gunships are listed as fast skimmers
In IA1 V2 vendettas are listed as flyers

is one correct or are we waiting on a new codex to sort this out

I'm pretty sure when the current codex was released flyers weren't a thing or were at least very new

When the 5th edition book came out there were no flyers so it was classified a Skimmer.

Once 6th was released it became a Flyer as that was a much more fitting description. Unfortunately it and it's far deadlier variant are still priced as Skimmers.

You'll want to read the Imperial Guard FAQ that's on the GW website. It explains what changed in the codex from 5th to 6th
