If you want good looking zombies, then give these guys a go.

http://www.manticgames.com/mantic-shop/warpath/zombie-apokalypse/product/zombie-apokalypse-marines-35-figures.html

They are very good 'fallen Imperial Guard' type of zombies.

As for the chaos spawn, no idea. You could always make a ball of green stuff and stick a few tentacles on it.

For Chaos Spawn, I'd reccomend scratch building your own, or looking at the Warhammer fantasy range for alterantives. Just be careful about size issues.

Their are no 'official' plague zombies models, however the vampire counts warhammer fantasy range has zombies which would work really well.

Im not too clued up on other miniature lines, so if someone else could step in?

Personally, I like the idea of some guardsmen fighting against zombies that were just alive - their friends not 30 minutes ago killed by a horrible plague and then returned to life.

I'd go with buying regular imperial guard models and then painting them zombie, rather than things that look more like conventional zombies.

Especially if you have a friend that plays guard. Then you can paint your zombies in his colors.

The chaos spawn models may be expensive but the sheer volume of bits makes it worth the cost. I bought three boxes to make my fiends of slaanesh about 4 years ago and I still have a pile of bits from those kits.

I bought one box of Spawn, and created 4 more out of the spare bits and whatever spare marine/ork/guard bodies I had. I even used the top-hatch half torsos off the vehicle sprues!

I used vampire counts vargeists/crypt horrors for my spawn (converted them into minotaur things).
I think they work really well. They looks suitibly mindless and chaotic, and they have nice dynamic fast poses to reflect how speedy they is.

I bought the spwan kit. You get so many parts in it I bult the two spawn models, and have so far converted two marines into spawn, I have enough parts to convert at least aonther two, giving me six. Which is nice.

You just got to remeber that spawn can look like almost anything. so even a bloob of green stuff with spines comming out will count.

Hope that helps.

Ebay is a good source for cheap Spawn models.

I recently got a batch of 7 for $40, and 3 others for about $9 a piece.

Well, you could take one box of Spawn and with the bits you can get additional ones from Ogres. Just keep the size of the models in mind. Ogres are perfect for this.

Yup absolutely!

I never use my bought spawn any more. Far prefer my tenticley chums that I built with my own two hands.

But buy a box for the bits, they're worth it.

Plus having two for any official comps where your CSM champs may turn is handy to have.

Well, building a larger number of Spawn (say 10) is still one of my future projects. For this, I'll take some Ogres combined with bits from a Spawn box. But I save this for the day when 40k becomes again a bit more cc oriented. This could happen in May or so with the release of the new ed.
