Nope. They look decent on paper but the weakness to fire in a game where everything has access to flaming weapons is a deal breaker. That said, I've had a unit of yehtees mow down wraiths and the like... so, situational?

For the point cost, they can pack a punch but with no armor it's hard to get them into combat. It's been ages since I've used mine; there are just better options in the book so the yhetees and gorgers get left put quite a bit.

Out of all the units in the book, gorgers and yhettees are my favourite. Sucks that they arn't great.

Gorgers suffer by not being able to charge the turn they arrive so usually just get shot up; they can be a distraction but they're a lot of points for a distraction. Yhetees die to crossbows.. Sorry to be a downer; proxy them for a couple of games and see if they work better for you than they did for me.

They are expensive and situational.
They can be good, or they can totally flop.
Not what I want for 43 points a model.
I'd rather spend the 7 points more and get maneaters.

The local WHFB face-beater always uses a unit of 8 Yhetees in his OK list. Can't remember the last time he lost with his OK in a tournament. They must provide something to him that he likes.

I'm glad to hear people being balanced. Usually they will say they are absolutely horrible and you will die in a fire if you use one.
In a book full of great units at great prices, Yhettees are simply too expensive. By a lot? No. But when you have so many good specials, it's hard to see taking them. The -1WS isn't nearly as good as the Nurgle marks that float around in multiple army books.

Pretty much this. -1 WS isn't great, and what's worse is it's only enemies in contact; so supporting attacks are attacking yetees normally.
What yetees are really good at is killing other ogres. They usually get the charge with M7 and Swift Strider, and hit on 3's (thanks to the -1WS) wound on 3's (S5), and swing before the ogres (Init3). In a big unit, they can deal a lot of damage before the ogres get to swing. So it all seems like roses, until the other ogre player catches on, and invests in a fire belly. Then it's lights out for the yetees as they take double wounds from the breathe weapon.
