So I'm considering, for a 2000 single FoC event, taking Daemons of Khorne alongside a Nob Biker Ork list.

A few nurglings for the cheapest possible, non-scoring-regardless troops, and then a massive pack of hounds are for certain. The part I'm unsure about is whether to run with a Bloodthirster and perhaps a Daemon Prince of Khorne or should I take Karanak and perhaps Skulltaker or other Heralds to buff up the dog pack?

Also open to a Skull Cannon if its worthwhile, and can field bloodcrushers though they seem outright rubbish to me. Skarbrand would also be undeniably cool though I imagine he wouldn't work here.

Any advice or suggestions highly appreciated!

Interesting Idea. I'd say what i've always said.

Juggernaut Herald of Khorne with Exalted Locus (hatred makes them soo good) and the Grimoire

15 hounds, herald, and nurglings comes out to 440 points and can sweep entire armies.

Hounds are so good i just can't not take them like every game

If you really want to stick with Khorne, then I agree with thisisnotpancho, a Herald on a Juggernaut going with the Hounds is more cost-efficient.

If you prefer a FMC, then I'd suggest you a Lord of Change with a Staff of Change... better Daemon overall with respect to the Bloodthirster. Not to mention that gives you access to Divination... Prescience is always useful.

However Daemons are such an heavily assault oriented codex that perhaps you could find better allies with Imperial Guard or something more shooty..

I have always looked at CSM because they ally better than Chaos so I've never really though about it. The Hounds would synergize with the Nob bikers in the respect that anything that kills the hounds would still have to deal with them. That's also why I think Orks make such a great ally. Biker boss with Bikerz as troops fills the requirement and is a self sufficient force with mobility, cover, FNP and Str 10 attacks.

Although on the other hand, hounds and Bikerz are going to have some of the same drawbacks since they are so similar.

Fighting crime in a future time!

Dakka is the ork word for shooting, but the ork concept of shooting is saturation fire. Just as there is no such thing as a "miss" in a target-rich environment, there is no such thing as a "dodge" in a bullet rich one

Fleshhounds, Juggers and a Tzeentch Herald Lv3 with Grimoire and Biomancy, telepathy.

So you can give the Hounds or the Juggers a 2++ and Endurance if you are lucky on your rolls.

If you don't like to rely too much on Psy powers, then BT or cheap Herald on Jugger/Karanak.

You gotta be a little careful about running Orks with Daemons/Daemons with Orks, as they are Desperate Allies, so your Allied 'Troops' will NOT be scoring, nor denial units, and they'll have to be rolling the Over the Shoulder rule (whatever that's called) if they get too close to each other.

I love the Khorne idea however just because of the fluff, and Khorne Daemons can mess some $*%) up!

My take:

Bloodthirster/2 Greaters/
Jugger Herald/Abjuration Locus/Greater Reward/Lesser
Jugger Herald/ Grimoire
2 x 16 Bloodletters
16 Flesh Hounds
Skull Cannon

MegaArmored Warboss/Biker Boss
however many MegaNobz/Nob Bikers
Battlewagon (if MegaNobz)
LOOTAS! and if no Wagon, MAX LOOTAS, or maybe Stormboyz with Zagstruck? (the guy who can deepstrike them and then assault)

maybe an Aegis Line/Icarus or Quad Gun

Lootas and Cannon got some ranged support, but you will have some fast hard hitting dudes! And a really cool pure fluff list. I think you'd have enough points for all that, but you could cut back on the Bloodletters if needed.

I'm looking to run Orks as the Primary, because taking them as secondary removes their main advantage over daemons - their Nob Bikers are scoring while flesh hounds are not!
