Subject: Advice on my Death Korp Regiment.

So, Hello Dakka.
Ive come here because i wrote up a summary on my DKOK regiment, The 92nd Death Korp Siege regiment.
Uniform
The 92nd DKOK siege regiment wears a very dark uniform. The greatcoats they are iconic for wearing is all black, with a red sash and collar. The helmet is all black too, the shoulder pads are unique, with the left all black with silver insignia, and the two right pads are a dark red and white. The gas mask is a dark brown, and the leg wrapping and boots the same. Quartermasters often have a red cross on their knee Pauldron.
Notable Campaigns
*The Siege of Aggerim;
The 92nd Siege regiment was one of the 3 DKOK regiments sent to overrun and claim the cathedral of Tiberas from the heretic cardinal Falsuian.
They led a 10 day bombardment on the outer city whilst Cadian Shock troopers of the 41st exterminated the traitor guard in the city. The 92nd then pushed forward on the the 11th day and lost 80,000 men. The cardinal was beheaded by a grenadier and thus the siege was a success.
*Extermination of impurius.
Impurius was the name given to a hive world which fell to Chaos, having a prominent Nurgle influence on the surrounding planet. The 92nd Death Korp were sent to exterminate the population and deem the planet pure. For 50 days the regiment and a company of Exorcists (Space marine) planned in the trench mile surrounding the main city of Hivecity Necris. They then proceeded to attack the city after 2 days of extreme bombardment, the regiment was met with extreme resistance, with mines and barbed wire at every step. The planet was efficiently purged, and thus the 92nd siege regiment earned the name "The Exterminators".
*Siege of Robbinamus
The siege of Robbinamus was a example of the 92nd's hate on the Chaos world, a world eaters war-band was torturing and killing the local populous, The 92nd was sent with a Imperial fist company and 2 Cadian regiments. Instead of leading a trench attack, the 92nd were sent in riding 6 Gorgons. The other group were sent in as Death Riders. The Imperial fist company destroyed the leader, Alecin Jider whilst the 92nd and the Cadian regiments ran down and fought a bloody hand to hand battle with Chaos Space marine's and a huge number of Traitor guard.
Notable Korpsmen
*Venatis Von Sangustein
The famous Korpsman who beheaded traitor Cardinal Falsuian with just his bloodied bayonet, after performing the action he became a Kreig officer and fought in a number of sieges before being captured by a Blood pact group and being used as a sacrifice.
*Ustorus Morsturm
Ustorus was a significantly grim individual, having been described that he would never speak. On the charge of 40,000 on the planet Tempast IV he single handedly burned 80 heretics, and then was seen charging into a trench with a bayonet. A minute later bombardment started on the trench and his comrades knew that he would be dead. When they stormed the trench, they found him nailed to a wall, as a result of a flying shrapnel nail hitting him. But all around him the bodies of the heretics were found with bayonet stab marks, thus it was concluded he fought more than 60 heretics before his death.
*Commissar Hans Mortus
Commissar Hans Mortus was a grim man. Often described infamously as "Not caring of his men, and only glory for himself", he was seen on multiple occasions shooting his own men in the trenches and confiscating them of their gas mask's. He was found by the Officer to be taking away his men's hopes of washing themselves of their sins. He was executed for heresy.
So…
What does the rest of Dakka think?

I'm no DKOK expert, but it seems reasonable to me - plenty grimdark, the only possible discord I see is how often they fight alongside SM - but to be honest, assuming they've been around a while, that's fine - and after all, you only record the "notable" battles, and fighting alongside Astartes probably counts as "notable" for any guard regiment.
Overall, I think it's very good.

It is good. Sounds very Deathkorps-like.
If I really have to think of some criticism, I would say that there is not yet enough grimdark. The DKoK can never have enough over-the-top (no pun intended) grimdark. Have them exterminate lots of innocents and have them needlessly lose almost their entire regiment instead of calling for support or something like that. Overdone to the point of being silly grimdarkness is the trademark of the DKoK.
I like it.

Now this i liked reading! But if you truly wish to make it as grimdark as a DKoK regiment should be, do as others have pointed out. Have them commit in absolutely brutal and almost heinous acts of mass executions, chemical warfare and general missery. Also make sure they at some point almost have been wiped out while holding a bastion or something like that.

Okey Dokey.
*The massacre of Senius.
Senius was a planet known for its iron will and discipline for making Imperial armour. For 6 long years however, a Inquisitor by the name Saphius Binus had been secretly planning a Daemonic incursion. On the day of the Incursion hundred of thousands of Daemons flooded the world, possessing, killing, or mutilating any Woman, Child, or man in their sight. 100 Grey knights and the whole of the 92nd siege regiment of Kreig had been chosen to exterminate and destroy the Daemonic threat. When on arrival, the 92nd did not realise that they would walk away, with all of the troops deployed dead. Whilst waiting for the Grey knights for help, the 92nd fought bloody wars with lesser Daemons and heretics. Within the first 28 days, a quarter of the men were dead. The sight was often described to be full of bodies…impaled and strewn by bloodied and rusty barbed wire. The Grey knights had not come, and the 92nd were depleting fast, a mound known as the "Festering Fallen" had been place in no mans land, heretics collected the beheaded and disembowelled bodies of the dead and placed them in a mound, kept together by barbed wire wrapped around the hill of bloody rotting bodies.
On the 80th day, after being attacked by a Nurgle infestation which infected the victim's skin with flesh eating lice, which had killed a whole trench….Did the officers accept the fact that the Grey Knights were not coming, and they decided to fight. For 4 days the city was bombarded by the 92nd, but not with ammunition: but with the decaying bodies of the dead…it surprisingly worked, as the regiment found that huge number of corpses hitting the ground at once can kill or immobilise. On the 85th day, they went over the top of the disgusting trenches. Hand to hand combat with many heretics and daemons was common, with Bloodletters chuckling as they ripped the head off Korpsmen and stuck their pale heads onto the spiked swords they held. After a bloody and gut wrenching fight, did the 92nd reach the city, fierce urban fighting ensued, with bodies heaped over skeletal warehouses and barbed wire.
The traitorous Inquisitor was found to have become a daemon prince, and after devouring hundreds of men decided that he must escape. The daemon of nurgle fled the planet but left behind a horror which they knew would kill those who fought them. After the daemons had fled, the 92nd led a extermination of the populous (who had been hiding in a cathedral). Children were dragged away from their mothers, beaten and stabbed to death whilst screaming for help from the burned corpses of their parents. The elderly and weak were shot in mounds, toppling over the festering pits of their offspring and carers. After the bloodthirsty purging was complete, the Black and red Kreigsmen stood for attention in the square.
A smell of rotting and decay filled the ranks and files…The kreigsmen, under their black and red collared greatcoats…were decaying alive. They died painful and agonising deaths, and the Quartermaster died before they were able to receive the peace of the emperor…the square was soon filled with the bodies of heretics, Kreigsmen, and the victims…all stabbed by the thorns of metal covering them…
The world was deemed for Exsterminatus…and the new martyrs of the 92nd were unaware of the massacre their comrades endured…
Good?.

Well.... it certainly has the body count and rather grim ending, but may I suggest leaving any mention of the GK out of it? Seeing how most IG regiments are just summarily executed after contact with said Astartes.
And one small detail that bugged me(no pun intended) was the part about flesh eating lice infecting a whole trench, the DkOk would not have just a single trench, more along the lines of a whole complex warren of said things,
But besdide that I like it! If you crave more infomration on DKoK I suggest reading the IA sige of Vraks books, they are a windfall of lore

Understood, may i include that the DKOK did not know that they were Grey Knights, they were just told Astaertes was coming for assistance. And thus they weren't executed, because the GK didn't come. Because after all, the IOM don't want the Gk known about don't they? i doubt they would tell a regiment about them...

Well I see what you mean, but the etxt seems to imply they knew the GK where coming. But fait enough. I would from here on build a bit more on the leaders of the regiemnt and noteworthy individuals, even if this is a DKoK regiment, just to add a bit more personal feel to it all

Seems good. You might want to make the notable korpsmen more of the form of;
(Venatis Von Sangustein)
*Grenadier 1129
Beheaded traitor Cardinal Falsuian with the bayonet the Emperor's grace gifted him.Due to these actions he was promoted to Platoon Commander 957 after which he fought in a number of sieges before being captured by a Blood pact group and being used as a sacrifice. Was posthumosly given the name Venatis Von Sangustein in recognition of his service to the Emperor.
The reason being that most korpsmen do not actually have names but rather only have numbers. If they perform well enough for log enough they might be recognized as a living citizen of krieg and given a name drawn from the names of pre destruction krieg. Even the officers are just the krieg soldiers who have survived long enough to be...promoted (ie their superiors probably all died) to their position. DKoK are an equal opportunity employer. In fact they are probably the least bigot faction in the IoM so unlike the other IG regiments their officers usually lack expensive equipment normally bought by the officer's wealthy family and they like they are just like their troopers just with a commander's standard kit. The officers are often called colonel ###, commander ###, etc. and for a korpsman this is his name just like John or Jose is a name for us. They also live much like their troopers just in a officer's area to maintain discipline.

Mention the GK as much as you wish, nothing happened to any regiments that fought at the Siege of Vraks and freaking An-garrath was summoned.

If flesh eating fleas infected a trench the Korps would cleanse it with flamethrowers, infected troops included.
There is not enough use of artillery and mortars in the story imo. Maybe have them lay siege to the city the inquisitor has taken and bombard it flat, after running out of shells and no astartes support the Krieg HQ decides to advance on the City, employing flamerthrowers, hellhounds and leman russ with flame thrower sponsons, burning daemon and heretic alike in a merciless advance into the city.
How do they bombard the city with the corpses of the fallen?
