I'm just reading the new entry here and am I right that Oath Stones no longer render a unit immobile?

Didn't the old ones only immobilize you once used? Is that part gone now?

That is correct, the Oath Stones have been changed and no longer render the unit immoble.

An oath stone in Ironbreakers is clearly a must nowadays, you don't want to lose your 5++ parry

Was thinking the same thing, and a banner with rune of stoicism. Not sure how best to kit out the oathstone thane....

You can go cheap-ish with a 1+ save, or go for the double rune of +1 toughness and 5++, don't think you can stick the 1+ save on him then, probably limited to a RoStone
Of course the great weapon would be the weapon of choice

Going as defensive as possible is probably a good idea. With the Oathstone, the Thane has to accept challenges, so can be an easy target for a killy character. Even if he doesn't accept a challenge, the benefit of the 'Stone is lost as soon as the Thane is killed, so keeping him alive is pretty important.
