Why isn't there an option 'I'll magnetize them so that I can use both' or 'I'll buy several of them with different loadouts'?

2200 points of SoB and Inquisition (40K)
1000 points of orks (40K)

Since I plan to scratch build them. Ill will probably end up with both of them.

One with a battle cannon and one with a thermal cannons, and possibly a 3rd with another battle cannon with comms equipment to be the squad leader.

Regiment: 91st Schrott Experimental Regiment
Regiment Planet: Schrott
Specialization: Salvaged, Heavily Modified, and/or Experimental Mechanized Units.

Well, the thermal cannon is tempting and it can be a big threat.

I will likely magnetize, but the Thermal Cannon has a really good threat range when you consider this thing also moves 12", giving it a 30" threat range for 1/2 range Melta.

No earth shattering, thought provoking quote. I'm just someone who was introduced to 40K in the late 80's and it's become a lifelong hobby.

I think having two pie plates at basically infinite range on most boards suits me better. The Knight can rip basically any tank or vehicle apart in melee so I'm not fussed about the Thermal Cannon at all, and not being able to deny Termies armour saves isn't a big deal.

At 370 points a single pie plate just doesn't cut it for me. Also, complementary Heavy Stubber with the Paladin.
