I know they are usually brighter, but I like the more mute red. Also I apparently cannot paint faces that look good closer than a foot.

I do not see anything wrong with the red myself. I actually like the darker tint.

The red is nice like that. If anything, I would suggest painting the fur/cloth/metal a bit lighter, just for contrast.

Whelp I suppose I could drybrush some white over the top of the fur. Might have to pick up a brighter metal.

If you did want a lighter red for some reason, you might need to do a few more layers of thinned down red, progressively making it brighter. Because red is kind of difficult to paint over black (I'm assuming you primed black?) you could also try undercoating with a grey coat, which makes it easier to bring out bright reds, and use a dark wash to darken the recesses again.
That said, it looks pretty nice as it is, only question is whether you're happy with it, and (as mentioned earlier) just brightening up the rest of the model would make it pop quite nicely.

Touched up the furs and faces a bit, and painted a sniper. Glad this game uses less models than 40k, could never motivate myself to paint my whole army. Automatically Appended Next Post: Also what you can barely see, I gave butcher big bushey evil curl at the end eyebrows. Because he always struck me as an evil eyebrow type.

I always like darker, dirtier looks for armies. Makes it look more like a battle than a parade.
So yeah, I like these.
Just need to work on some bases and you are good to go!

Imho they are a little dark for my taste (but that's probably the Blood Angel in me talking)... but they're coming along nicely and once they're based I'm sure they'll look the business!

Your question almost implies you're under the impression that colour schemes have any impact at all in WM.
The only questions is are they red enough for you? Paint them Striking Scorpion green if you like.

Nice travel worn look to them. I like it. But truly, as long as you like it, they're perfect. Color scheme has much less to do with the game than it does it 40K.

If you think they are too dark I would suggest a light colored base, like snow. It will really set off the darker colors on the model.

I agree, I paint my Khador very dark red and have patchy snow on the bases and love the look
Really really like your marksman! I would say keep up the good work and get posting the rest of your army

Forgot to post my newly painted jacks. Truth be told, I started khador for their slick looking warjacks, its a shame they don't run them as efficiently as I would like.
Don't mind the spriastator. I had no magnets left, got impatient, and decided to build him to represent all 3 possible jacks. Also his left shoulder fears no man.

Looking very good. They have a very classic style Khador look to me, the studio scheme in MK1 seemed darker than the one they use today, only example I can still find is on the non variant pVlad. Maybe it was always just him, but since he was the first model I bought aside from the battlebox it has stuck with me.
