So having finished glueing and painting the GW Citadel Forest terrain, I am quite happy with the result. Trees look good, the leaves are of course very flat, but having it all painted up makes it look appealing. So the only worry is the small contact surface my normal glue has to work on. Usually the glue is super-strong and never yielding. But with the plastic bit for canopies beaing so large and the contact with the tree branch so small, I am looking for something to make up for it.

Have you any experience with glue that works on plastic and which holds great volume? It's going under the leaves and so won't be visible. It needs to create a stronger connection between the tiny branches and the small contact area on leaves.

How do you solve it if you used the leaves?

I think the best option for the situation is to pin them.

Well it's a bit late for that now and I never got the equipment for it :( Also the parts are really thin so don't know if pinning would be feasable.

No tip on glue?

Well 9/10 times as long as it isnt GW glues it should hold fine, so long as you are not actively trying to break the terrain.

Plastic glue should work well to hold em (as they are literally melted together). just try to find some good points of contact (hopefully 2 ore more)

If all else fails, you could also build up the branches with Greenstuff

You could pick up some 2-part epoxy, or maybe gel-type superglue? Both of these should provide a bit of bulk to the connection for better adhesion. They will end up a bit blobby, but if its hidden underneath the leaves it should be ok, so you indicate.

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

The strongest bond you will get without pinning is with a good polystyrene cement like Testor's Model Masters. These glues melt the two pieces of plastic together. Just make sure the points that are being glued together are free of paint.

I just bought three of those forests and I actually opted to leave the leaves off and go with a more desert theme. I know that's no help to you, I just thought I'd empathize with your concerns of snapping them off. They look really nice but I don't think they were designed with having them tossed in a box in mind.
