The models don't excite me... They look like jacks in warmachine, and the aesthetics of warmachine never stood out to me...

You must look back in the old warhammer 40k books to understand the design of the knights. Me I like it.

I never said the warjacks came first, I simply stated they look like them, and I think the style is lame.

OMG thank god someone else doesn't like them I thought I was the only one.

There very static and the armour plate over the top of the head and arms looks completly daft !!

Unfortunately I am going to be seeing a lot of them 2 people I know are fielding an army full of them :(

I think they totally fit the Imperial aesthetic which broadly speaking combines Gothic revival, mediaeval, WW1, and bricks (for the aircraft).

Still, they look better than the Lawn Mower Man of Khorne.

I'm just a little worried with the BIGGA, BETTA, MOAR ROBOTS look GW is going for.

Will infantry even be playable soon? Oh right, they're there to have Large Blast Templates landed on them.

I think they are the best mega size model that GW has made so far.

I wouldn't mind playing some robot only games. It'll feed into my giant robot tendencies. Thank you japan!

The only thing I'm not to crazy about is the silly looking dreadnought feet. Overall the model looks great and now when I read mechanicum again I'll have an even better mental image of the battle scenes.

I have to disagree with you here man, I absolutely adore the look of the model and if I had an Imperial army I'd certainly pick one up for Allied shenanigans.
As it is I'm having to work very hard to convince myself not to buy three and a Warhound and call that an 1850pt army

By the 37 keys of Tzeentch,We open the way for our brothers,
By the 1000 whispers of Slaanesh we call to them,
By the 12 plagues of Nurgle we fell their enemies,
And by the mighty axe of Khorne we cut open the world for them!

The imperial knights look WAY better than the warjacks. It's not even a fair comparison.

I appreciate the quality of the design and the build, but I don't actually like the look.

The model looks a bit top heavy and some heavy Warjacks look cooler. Mixed feelings here.

Not a huge fan of the Knight. Not a huge fan of the design aesthetic of the super-heavies in general (I thought the Revenant Titan was uncharacteristically ugly for an Eldar walker).

Out of interest to the guys who don't like them.

Did you play Titan Legions? Or did you come to the hobby later?

I love them but then I loved the knights from Titan Legions so for me its a mix of giant robot mech porn and nostalgia.

Love them. Hate the price.

I think the Warjack looks goofy as feth, however.

The design is really nice, my only issue with the kit is that the legs seem to be rather mono-pose. That's going to be really noticeable when using 4+ of these guys in an army.

This... Khorne dozer is worst prize. A Kit bash between the dozer and khorne lord of skulls might be cool though. Too expensive for me to attempt though.

Imperial Knight kit looks awesome. One of the best looking 40k kits there is. That Warmachines kit looks like something from a world of warcraft comic.

I must say that I rather like them, unlike the Wraithknight (weird for a race as nimble and dexterous as eldar, imo) or the Khorne Lord of Skulls (meh). And if you really wanna see how beautiful it is just compare it to a dreadknight.

Aesthetic judgements are a personal thing. The 40k scale model has done a good job of replocating the old Epic model, with a few nice up to date detail flourishes. On the whole I think I like them, but I'm not that interested.

While I agree it is much better than the Khorne Dozer, it's still not great.

You're going to have to make me WANT to give you more than $100 for this model, GW. Right now, it's just a meh.

In response to comments about the similarity to Warjacks people keep pointing out that the GW ones were first in a game 20 years ago, as though that's supposed to make the similarity irrelevant. The GW knights look a lot more like Warjacks than they do the old Epic Knights. I've seen quite a few 'you've not been in the hobby long enough' types of comments as though this dismisses observed similarities in recent designs.

Heres an upscaled knight from Epic.

Now I don't expect them to produce that exactly today and a redesign is likely after 20 years as has been done with the Baneblade and Rhino. But given they've redesigned it, it has to be admitted that they've taken on a lot of the aesthetic of the Warjack. So pointing out that the GW Titan came first isn't a counter to the claim that the new one strongly resembles a Warjack.
