So, simple question, I have no idea which of the german books from flames of war is best to portray grenadiers and heavy tanks on the western front. I pretty much just want to be able to use my open fire box set alongside pnzIV's, panthers, konigstigers and my Foke Wulf 190.

Can anyone think of a book hat'll let me do that?

Gray Wolf may be the best option as it's the compilation book for all the German LW lists on the eastern front

I think devils charge is the only west front book with king tigers readily available - also has panzer 4's and panzer grenadiers.

Personal favourite wester front German book is actually the 'Panzers to the Meuse ' pdf

It's not panzergrenadiers I'm after, just the standard infanrty grenadiers, the ones with rifle/MG teams.

Antlantik Wall is the newest Normany compilation. There's a Confident Trained Grenadierkompanie, and two Schwere-Panzerkompanies - Heer and SS - that can take Tigers and Porsche King Tigers.

After looking through a friends copy of bridge by bridge I can't see a lot that lets me use grenadiers AND konigstigers. They all rely on panzergrenadiers.

I'll look through a few more books next time I get a chance!

Nothing in Atlantik Wall has air support, so you wouldn't be able to use your Focke-Wulf 190. You'll have to decide what you want to cut, but you'll have more options if you drop the Grenadiers (or use them as Panzergrenadiers).

Ah, found it. The v2 book 'Fortress Europe' lets Germans take grenadiers with king tigers. No FW, however.

Looking back at Bridge by Bridge, the SS-Kampfgruppe Arnheim list lets you use all three. You could 'pretend' one of your Grenadier platoons is a SS-Panzer Crew platoon - just be sure to mark them out differently from other infantry platoons.

Lazzaraus... that looks like a pretty decent list.

One other thing, since the actual airplane models play such a small role in the actual game, most people won't bat an eye if you proxied the FW190 for a Stuka or something else.

hmm...if I replace the command mortar team with a panzerschreck team I literally just need to buy myself a second konigstiger and a grenadier machine gun platoon and I've got everything.

Think I might also get the atlantik wall book to play wittman at some point.

Decided that I'm going with Atlantic wall and Devils Charge. Atlantic wall for grenadier list and the Schweer SS panzer list with wittman, and devils charge for an SS panther battalion.
