Following on from my previous thread in which I was searching for medieval armoured figures: http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/572022.page
I finally managed to find an assortment of bits that I think look pretty good together.
I whipped this up in paint to see how the pieces might come together and to generally get a feel for the style I'm aiming towards.
Check it out

I'm totally aware that pretty much everything in this picture is out of scale, however not having anything to really go by, I just had to guess.

I have a couple of doubts about this conversion that I hope some users here on dakka dakka might help me alleviate.
First of which is whether or not the scout arms would fit the Cold Ones Knight torso.
A lesser concern is if the helmet will also fit the torso. This is not such a big deal as alterations can be made to both pieces in order to fit them together.

Other problems include having to construct a reasonably sized power plant as there seems to be nothing that will cater to my needs. Basically I want a man-sized version of the Dreadnought's rear exhausts. Any ideas in this field would be helpful.
Finally, I'm not totally satisfied with the legs as I originally did not plan on a scalemail skirt but rather full-plate armour. This is the best I've been able to find so far but am currently still seeking better alternatives.

If I can pull this off and be satisfied with the results I'm sure to dive into the project. Eventually I expect to find the bits I want to use to build an Inquisitor as well, who would be keeping with the general aesthetic of the Acolytes.
Feedback is crucial for me to get this project off the ground as I am limited in funding which means I have to be dead set on the bits I buy.
Looking forward to hearing your thoughts.

Peace

The cold one knight torsos have deep sockets for ther head and arm connection points, so you may have to add some wads of green stuff to get it all to fit right.

Fantasy: Tomb Kings, Dark Elves, Wood Elves, Lizardmen, Daemons
40k: Daemon Hunters (GK,MT allied), Tallarn Armored Battle Group, Night Lords.
Firestorm Armada/Firestorm Planetfall: Dindrenzi

make machine gun/ exhausts that would work for the back pack thing.
Fully armored legs are tricky. Take a look at the Dreamforge Eisenkern Stormtroopers. Might be getting a little too high tech there though. The torsos also might suit.

Thanks Opeth! This is exactly the kind of information I need before deciding on the bits I've chosen. It should be no problem to fill the gaps with GS.

Those gun barrels I could definitely use.
I also remembered this from Anvil Industries

Which is pretty close to what I want.
If I did get these I'd still be making alterations to the exhausts. possibly cutting away the riveted top rim from the vents and adding in those perforated exhaust pipes (gun barrels) instead.
As for the Eisenkern Troopers, I did consider using their arms but was concerned with scale and positioning in terms of holding the bolter. I've also already got a small collection of scout arm-bolter bits The legs you are correct about in that they're too techy for the theme I'm going for.

I feel like I have ploughed though the entire GWS range in search of suitable leg bits. here and there I'll find something that looks like it would work but when I look for the other variations from the same kit they're generally not what I'm after. As it stands I can either have a whole bunch of the same legs or I can have different variations of legs from different kits that would probably end up looking horribly mismatched.
Basically I want them to be completely armoured in something that resembles medieval plate armour but still bulky enough to look like more than just regular armour. Space marine legs of all variations are too bulky/techy
I suppose I would not be adverse to using partially armoured legs which I could easily GS plates over the unprotected areas.

Does anyone know if there are any GWS guns with perforated barrels that I could use instead of 3rd party ones so as to keep them Tournament Legal?
It would also to be helpful to know how the Scout arms and Greatswords head scale with the torso If anyone could provide details or better yet, pictures, that would be absolutely amazing

Perforated barrels for the exhausts? You're not going to be booted from any tourneys (that GW doesn't run anyway) for using 3rd party bitz as a part of a largely GW mini.

I've done the same leg search as you, there's really nothing, even 3rd party that works. Warlords WotR line has some parts that look right, but are too small.

Also check out migsula's Legion P&M blog thread for examples of the greatsword head with scout arms.

OH LOOK!! It's half of exactly what I want.

I'd consider using the Geatswords legs if I didn't hate the puffy fabric and I wasn't trying to make PA...
