Hey guys and gals!!

I just wanted to introduce myself and get to know ya'll a bit better! My name is Zombiemilitant and I have VERY recently started to get interested in Warhammer 40k and the like. I have never played, but I have painted many models and am enjoying the collecting side of the house. However, I would love to get into actually playing the game. However, I have not read the rules haha and am currently slogging through the quite ample rulebook(s) to try a get a better grasp on this awesome game! I would love to ask for any advice in how to get a basic army set up maybe 1000 points of models or something of that nature.

I have narrowed it down between Grey Knights or Salamander Space Marines...any help would be appreciated and maybe some initial models to buy and paint up for each...Thanks for all the help and I'm looking forward to interacting with everyone in the near future!!

Hi,

Welcome to Dakka

While I'm not a GK player, I'd recommend buying a tactical squad to start with if you're going for Salamanders.
Versatile, good armor, and okay points cost (at least to my knowledge). Getting the codex might also be a good idea.

Also, welcome to Dakka! Hope you enjoy your time here!
