I have seen this quite a bit on battle reports. However the IC rule states that ICs cannot join units that can only have one model.

Did I misinterpret the riptide/tau commander in the videos? This is not only wrong but extremely wrong as it creates a insane combo right?

Can't join a Knight for the reasons you state but as the Riptide can be a unit of more than one model (adding drones) it is legal to join an IC to it.

The riptide has the option of taking shield drones, not sure if the wraith knight has anything similar though and yes it would be an overpowered combo.

But hey, at least it forges a good narrative amirite?

Wraithknights are always single model unts, so you can't join an IC to it.

I have a peanut allergy. It's really inconsiderate.

I like that this lets me join an IC to a Carnifex
Now if only Tyranids had any good ICs...

Plopping a prime in a unit of carnies is a decent way of delivering synapse to the enemies deployment zone. 12 T6 3+ wounds before the prime even starts taking damage is pretty nice. Not cheap by any means, but way more survivable than even the swarmlord with guards. (only 50 pts more expensive than swarmy+3guards too [before upgrades are applied])

So you are saying a Commander should not be allowed to join a Crisis suit Team of 1 Model either? The Unit Composition is the Same and the Optional additional Suits and Drones are written in the same manner.

Must be some more of them Herp Derp Shenanigans

This is my Rulebook. There are many Like it, but this one is mine. Without me, my rulebook is useless. Without my rulebook, I am useless.
Stop looking for buzz words and start reading the whole sentences.

Also... how does this hurt forging a narrative? Are you saying the riptide pilot is too stupid to use the help from his commander but a crisis suit is not?

Pulling out the Forging a Narrative is bull 99% of the time I see it. This makes perfect sense from a narrative point of view, as well as technical.

I don't know about you, but to me a technologically advanced military that relies on communications and coordination to accomplish a shared objective doesn't seem like the kind of military that would use those communications systems to help coordinate with their largest weaponry and ensure accurate placement of precision firepower. That's just silly.

This is hilarious coming from a poster that thinks he should be allowed to MFA. You are all bad people for following the clearly laid out rules and are stopping me from forging a narrative by not letting me cheat...

Take the Magic: The Gathering 'What Color Are You?' Quiz.

Yes my Colour is Black but not for the reasons stated mainly just because it's slimming... http://imperiusdominatus.blogspot.com
