Hey guys, simple request here...show or tell me how you store your brushes!

I need to do something with mine other than keep them in a pile on my painting table....so I'm looking for ideas.

Bundled together using rubber bands with the protective plastic guards on to prevent damage to the bristles. Brushes for metallics are bundled separately but in the same way.
Once bundled they're kept in my paint carry case.

I don't have many brushes so I leave them on their side on the table, just make sure there's nothing pressing against them. Also, you should never keep those plastic covers that come with them when they are new, you should throw those away, since you're more likely to damage the bristles permanently by trying to put the plastic tube back on.
There are brush holders, but it would probably be best to make your own. Personally Id use blu tac (the sticky putty stuff), to just attach them upright to a shelf or similar. Quick search on google brought up this video of a guy making his own paint brush holder: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=panUBU7k5_A

Unfortunately the cat makes sure that I have to keep the brushes in a sealed container so using the plastic bristle sheath is less harmful than leaving them uncovered and having the whole bristle head bent :p

My brushes lie flat in a plastic Tupperware-type container with a lid, and that lives in the cupboard with all my other gear.
I reuse the bristle protectors 'cos I take great care in putting them back on. Good brushes are an investment.

If I need to go do something while painting I'll leave the brush I'm actively using across the top of my paint water cup. If I'm not painting though I just let them sit together on my hobby table like pens or exacto knives.

I pile them up in a box with all my paints and current painting projects. I do however put the plastic sleeves over the bristles to protect them.

I was starting worry I was the only one storing brushes this way. I just use a couple plastic cups, one with my detail brushes and then the other with all the brushes I use for everything else. Just keeping them bristles up has done me well and some of my detail brushes are still in fine form from when I purchased them back around 2002.

In a mug, bristles up, most with the plastic guards on them. All stored after a good cleaning then a brush soap/preserver which helps them keep their form.

I use a pencil holder. Which is basically just a cylindrical plastic cup.

They should be keep horizontal to keep the water/paint from going into the ferrule. However I keep mine in a cup too.

Also I've started taking photos to use as reference for weathering which can be found here. Please send me your photos so they can be found all in one place!!

I keep mine on some dinner table knife rests I bought from an antiques store. It appeals to the aesthete in me.

I have 2 of these for my brushes. One for the ones I commonly use and one for older ones that I am not ready to throw away and some extras that I have bought just in case.

And I am getting I have another of these for the sculptingtools. I like that they are both protected and well organized.

At home, I go the old coffee cup route.

For on-the-go, I use a roll-up brush carrier similar to the one pictured below, except that mine has elastic bands down the center to hold brushes in place instead of pockets.

I have something similar to that but for my pencils, would be a good idea for people to get that if they do have that many brushes, I only have two lol.

Hehe, two?

This is my actual case, one of two... this is the brushes I use most commonly.

If I were to get cases for pens I would need quite a few more

i carry my 15 or so brushes in a clear plastic brush pouch with protective sleeves on the bristles.

BTW .. here's a trick i learned:
If i lose my little bristle sleeves ,,, the straws from my daughter's favorite juice boxes are great alternatives!
