Edit: thanks for the input, I've only just started with grey knights. Crowe was a typo, the model that I have is actually stern, so I think I can proxy for draigo or a grand master if need be, but other than that, I have 15 fully magnetized grey knights in power armor (can be interceptor or regular) and 5 magnetized grey knight terminators. I'm buying some new models next month, but I don't know yet. so this is my new list. Because I have so few models, most of these decisions are to fill out the point cost, like not combat squading the interceptors, and adding psybolts on every unit

HQ

Grand Master

Digital weapons
master force sword
master bolter
mastery level 2
psybolt ammo
3 servo skulls =245 pts.

Troop

Grey Knight Strike Squad

psybolt ammunition
psycannon
2x force sword
1x Daemon hammer
justicar w/ master sword & storm bolter = 145 pts.

Grey Knight terminator Squad

brotherhood banner
3x force sword
1xdaemonhammer
psybolt ammunition
psycannon
justicar w/ master force sword & storm bolter = 250 pts.

Fast Attack

Grey Knight interceptor Squad

incinerator
psybolt ammunition
1x daemonhammer
2x force sword
psycannon
justicar w/ master force sword & storm bolter = 180

Grey Knight interceptor Squad

incinerator
psybolt ammunition
psycannon
1x daemon hammer
2x force sword
justicar w/ master force sword & stormbolter = 180

total = 1000/1000

All of my GK are magnetized, (arms, weapon, backpack), so i can change them to any unit, I'm open to any and all suggestions. I also have around $100 to spend on any units i need, I was thinking of buying another set of terminators and a dreadknight.

I'll never be able to repay CA for making GW realize that The Old World was a cash cow, left to die in a field.

Looks good to me. Psybolt Ammunition is all you really need to absolutely eviscerate Tau in lower point games.

It matters not from whence the weave flows, just that it doooo

Just wondering, why take Crowe?

ok sorry to tell you but there is a lot that is not that great :

- on strike squad, dont take hallberds on every guy its too expensive. dont take the hammer on the justicar he will die in challenge, psyamo is great but mainly on 10 men units, otherwise it is really expensive

- on the terminator squad its the same for psyamo, and falchions are not that great, the banner is expensive for just 5 guys

for the interceptor, juste take a unit of 10 and combat squad you will get 20pts from the psyamo there

finally why take crowe without purifiers, he is really expensive for a crappy character

I agree that crowe is somewhat useless. You have no purifiers, and he can't join a squad so he is an easily killed warlord. It would be pretty awesome if he makes a combat and lets loose cleansing flame, but tau will shred him. I would either spring for a grand master a la carte, or take an inquisitor. Coteaz is outright broken, but the vanilla choices are all good in different ways. The order herecius is probably not good against tau since they have no psykers, but xenos and mallus are soild.

Psybolt ammo is good so you can shoot on tau levels, but it is only worth it in squads of 10. Better to take more strikes/terminators over psybolt. Always take 2 psycannons in your strike squads and terminator squads. They serve as you anti...everything. Rending and S7 can hurt riptides, broadsides, crisis, you name it.

For your force weapons, you don't need anything fancy. Tau can hardly fight their way out of a broom closet, and I4 is the highest value you will see. Therefore, you don't need halbreds. Falchions are also pretty garbage since normal swords and hammers do the job. A hammer for each unit is good, but never on the justicar. If your stuck in a challenge going last, tau may suck in close combat but there is no reason to risk it. Short of a broadside shas'vre just go to town with your sword. Have the hammer hidden in the unit for S8 instagibbing and smashing.

Interceptors are fantastic against tau, particularly with the incinerators. Take two, jump up to fire warriors/kroot/pathfinders and watch them evaporate.

With a low model count and short range, tau could easily gun you down before you even get into shooting/assault range. You need some more bodies, and something long ranged for support. A psyfleman dread would be a good choice as it will outrange most tau fire and S8 instagibbs T4 suits.

The most important rule of 40K-Page XVII of the 6th edition rulebook, the figure at the top right of the page. "Shake hands with your opponent and thank them for a good battle and fun experience." Then go out for a beer.

Okay, so everyone else I believe agrees that Crowe is a bad choice. To replace Crowe I would suggest a Grand Master or if you wanted to, Draigo. The Grand Master and Draigo both have Grand Strategy which could make those interceptor squads scoring. And for the ranged fire support you can never go wrong with a Dreadknight. Give him the Heavy Psycannon and the Gatling Psilencer and he will shred whatever infantry unit he aims at. Also, Purgation squads are not bad for ranged fire support as a five man squad could take 4 Psycannons which could target virtually anything. The downside to Purgation squads is that they only have 24" range. And finally a Techmarine or Grand Master(or both) with Orbital Bombardment will squish a lot of things.

And for Dr.Serling, interceptors can only take one incinerator per five men in the squad.

Hope this Helps!

Take H. Incinerator and Teleporter on the DK and you won't regret anything.

I make bad decisions and think they are good.
