Chapter Tactics Star Phantoms:

Orbital Wave Attack: Any unit in the detachment arriving via
Deep Strike may re-roll any Reserve roll of 1 if its controlling
player wishes.

Hail of Destruction: Once per game, the player may declare
the use of this ability and its effects last from the start of the
controlling player’s Shooting phase until the start of their next
Shooting phase. During this period, all units in the detachment
with Chapter Tactics (Star Phantoms) count their Rapid Fire,
Assault, Salvo and Heavy Weapons as being twin-linked.

TACTICS:

Combat Squad all the Tactical Squads, send the sergeant and the grav gun with 3 marines in the rhino, the cannon stays back.
Put the chaptermaster and the MotF in the so you have meat shields.
Bolster a ruin to make it 3++ put the snipers in, you have a 2++ on your Scouts
Ven Dread, MM, ML, pop any tank easily. thats all hes there for, poppin annoying tanks
Flyers and straight forward, roll a 1 and you get to re-roll
TFC Stay Back and fire
Vindi Move up and fire

What would your response be to SW drop pod list? Rhino's are almost a guaranteed first blood. I'd swap to drop pods, you can place your troops exactly where you need them and have a much better tactical advantage.

@draegen either men stay back and fire the hell, or if we're good cowards we hop on rhinos and cruise

I get the desire for theming both in terms of fluff and in terms of gameplay. If all you want is the Orbital strike then why not take a Damocles Command Vehicle? You're already using Forgeworld rules as is.

And I do like the triple tac squads at the core of the list, that's always a good basis for any sort of Marine list. But I'd either look to dropping one or both of the Thunderfires and replacing it with a second Vindicator. A single Vindicator is fairly easy to pick off... two lets them either work together to rip stuff down or hold down either side of gunline you seem to be building.
