So I have no experience with basing. None of my models have been based properly yet however for my dark elf corsairs I wanted to try something. I want them to have wooden plank bases to simulate the floorboards of a human ship they would be raiding. I've heard to check hobby shops for something along these lines Any ideas

A very quick and easy way is to actually buy thin strips of balsa wood.
Easy to cut and work with and gives a nice texture.
Most forms of DIY shop should stock it too and its cheap.

Another option would be using green stuff, but its alot more time consuming and costly.
