So... what if Terra is real? or more precisely the imperium is real? and we are just a world waiting for compliance?

or maybe it has already happened... its just been kept secret from us there was no grand parades no announcements no ships in orbit only the UN knows. it was either that or face death... we are spared the tithe because we are out on the fringe and can barely produce anough food to feed our own mouths.. and none of us know about the imperium therefore the population cannot go off and fight in the emperors wars.

What if it was different. what if the imperium was made up of, for arguments sake, Eldar and we were just another life form waiting to be eradicated.

What if the age of man has already past and we missed it? we were a world never to be found. the warp destroyed and humanity eradicated. eaten by tyranids and what not.

The possibilities are endless!!

For reference Terra IRL is Earth. (we all get that?)
In this reality however the imperium lives on a planet called Alphabet

We live on Terra right now, it seems pretty real to me.

Who knows where we'll be in another 38,000 years.

I can't remember where it was but I read some where that the Terra in the 40k universe, where the Emperor is, is not the real Terra and that the real Terra, our Earth, was the Terra designated 63:19. Was quite an interesting idea.

Earth means Terra in Portuguese, same word

You guys are a bunch of trolls. A smiler question would be what if a enemy from space identical to the imperium came to take over earth and 'return' us to their empire.

It's worth noting that the inhabitants of 63-19 called their planet "Earth" and believed it to be the cradle of mankind.

Ya but what if the world was all an illusion and we are living in the martix right now and our bodies energy is being used by some sort of benevolent race of extraterrestrial being who want us to believe that the world of 40k isn't real but in reality it is real but we are just stuck in the martix believing that our little plastic men are just plastic men but since we are in cryogenic sleep that the little legions of plastic men are just a way for us to control battles that are happening outside of the martix in the REAL 40k. Everything we do in a 40k battle actually happens in a real 40K battle somewhere in the universe.

Or you know life is all a huge dream and nothing around us is actually happening but we are just thinking it is happening......

Lol, I know that much but I actually read somewhere on the Interwarp that 63:19 was Earth, it's more than likely a parallel thread to this though.

Terra was the Latin name for Earth. Portuguese, being derivative of Latin, uses the same word.

...that has to be one of the funniest nit picks I have seen on here it's still a Portuguese word now tho haha

George W. Bush said we were already fighting a war on Terra.

Its a bit ambiguous as to whether the Terra in 40k is earth or not. The HH books kinda state both positions at once, there are clearly places on Terra that are names of old places from our time (Merica, Jermani, Yndonesia) but then there's 63:19. Its probably deliberately meant to be left up to the reader.

Then again there's Mars, and we very much know where that is.

Slightly related, I remember sometime before Mass Effect 3 was released, someone posted a thing about finding a Prothean artifact on Mars. I was just getting into the fluff of 40k at the time but my response to that was "Plow that gak up! Plow it into the ditch! We need that land for the forges for the machine god!"

What if Mass Effect is the prequel to 40k? And the reapers were really killing off sentient races so that they wouldnt unleash the Orks on the galaxy.

Maybe the canon ending for ME3 is that they fought without the crucible and that created the age of strife as the reapers slowly wiped out the forces of a galaxy, but humanity clung to life and slowly rebuilt...

Needs a bit of work but could be forged into something cool

I will throw my lot with anyone except: nids, orks, de, and crons. Simply because of rape/death.

Chaos may work out if I'm lucky enough to not be murdered for no reason.

Plot twist: Every galactic faction started killing eachother until it was nothing left, and all planets were left barren. Billions of years later life appears on Terra. Present day happens.
