the speeders with their scout moves are in the action first turn with 3 of the pods. both chapter masters go with the honor guard in a pod.

Near and dear to my heart! My main army is Crimson Fists Drop Pod!
SO:


Pedro: Nothing to change here.

Chapter M. with tons of gravy: Huge point sink, you dont need anything he offers while you have combi plas and meltas. He would do nothing for you/

Honor Guard/Drop Pod: Again, a huge point sink that wont do anything beneficial for you that couldnt be done with other units.

2x 10man Sternguard with combi meltas and plasmas: That is a lot of plasma and melta, An 1850 Crimson Fist drop pod list needs 3x 10man sterngaurd. Spread out the weapons more between the three sterngaurd units, 3x melta and 3x plasma in each ten man.

Iron Clad Dread: This does nothing for you, you already have meltas for vehicles as well as those amazing special ammo for anything else and you need the slot for another 10 man squad.

Tact Squad, drop pod: Its fine, you need A LOT more though.

Scout Squads: No, just, no. In a drop pod list you need all tac squads so you can get as many drop pods first turn as you are able, the scout squads wont do anything you cant do better with the sternguard.


SO! After you take out what you dont need you should have room for more sternguards and tacticals that are coming in via drop pod. You STILL NEED anti air. Usually in a drop pod list, flyers are the go-to since you wont be able to protect any tanks. However, explain your reasoning behind your picks so I can think about if those honor guard or dread is worth it.

The honor guard is there with the chapter master to be a rock unit that can take the return fire that always comes. the chapter master is in termi armor so he can drop orbital bombardment on turn 1 and with shield eternal he can absorb a lot of return fire, also with the pods becoming 10 man now not 12 Pedro needs a ride.
the Iron clad is there because I have eldar/d. eldar, and tau in my area and if they are set for anti infantry then they struggle with armor 13 and the 2x heavy flamers just love xenos troops.
Scouts are there because they are cheap troops.
it just feels a bit disconcerted.


PS this isn't fluffy it's for a tournament so anything goes

I agree with EVERYTHING ryan said. You need to cut costs on your sternguard and put as many bodies on the field at once. i like generic tac marines to hold my plasma. So try 170 pt tactical squads with a plasma gun an combi-plas each. Give eac sternguard a maximum of 4 combi-meltas. For those pesky xenos you can run another sternguard with a heavy flamer and a few combi flamers. I do love the relentless orbital bombardment, however I only find it useful when it is twin-linked (presience) and when you have two chapter masters.
