Working on some multipart Beastmen for Heresy Era Games

I've made a bunch of head and body blanks which have been cast in resin to allow me to build variants quickly.

Over these I've sculpted detail in greenstuff.

The head is separate as are the arms and the sword

Im hopping to have 10 bodies, 10 sets of arms and LOTS of heads so I can create a really varied unit. I'll be casting these in resin so I can get a decent sized brood.

This is just the first one.

Cheers

Wow! When I looked at the title of the thread I had thought this would be conversions. Nope, that's a totally homemade and very awesome sculpt. Subbed.

What about the gun? Where did you get that one from?

There's something very old school about it, which is cool. One thing that's slightly odd though is that it looks very high tech. How about trying to get them to have somewhat cruder weapons, some sort of autogun perhaps? What about adding chainsaw bayonets to them?

Does this mean multiple gun designs? What about 'special weapons' (melta, flamer, etc)? Ooh, since you are going with an old school theme, what about some old school weapons like a webber, needlegun, etc? Stubbers would also be cool!

I think they already look crude. I especially like the crude sword and armour. Nevertheless I agree with Malika....stubbers would be really cool

On the other hand, I would quite like them to look LESS crude.

Like, maybe compatible with certain other manufacturer's 'Space Guardsmen' lines...

The arms are separate so will be adding gun variants once I get the first set done.

And now you've mentioned it… I'm off to work on some stubbers!

Personally, I like how crude their armor and knives look juxtaposed with the cool high-tech gun. It's like they were recruited from a primitive world by an obviously sophisticated "other" power; I think it illustrates the Imperium's power to subjugate with impunity. It's that "we own you now" mentality of a totalitarian state. These sculpts are really impressive.

Some more are on the way.

At this stage its important to make sure all the torsos are the same width so the arms will be interchangeable.

The bodies are just being bulked and shaped at the moment

I've popped a set on each of the bodies and the fit is good.

Much more to come in the next few days.

Cheers

Adam
