The Mangla Of Manglatha wrote:Hello. Im kinda new to the game, and i have collected about 2100 points (maybe not the best but for the time i was just getting them to paint but i recently started playing) of orks.
I have
1 warboss (Black Reach)
1 Bigmek w/ Shokkattack gun
2 deffdreads
3 killakanz
6 bikes
1 looted wagon
2 trukks
1 battlewagon
3 deffkoptas
5 nobs
12 lootas
10 burnas
1 painboy
and an innumerable amount of boyz
If anyone has any lists you can help me build, an effective list out of what i have, or ideas on what i can do to better it, or some tactica would be awesome
Hmm... Well that is a hodge podge for sure.
Pro's:
There is no clear target in this list upon which the rest of the army relies.
Its mobile and fast
a lot of armor to get through
Cons:
cant kill
AV 14. Well...MAYBE glancing it to death.
anti air is lacking. Thats a big 'un.
Nothing big enough to take on flying Circus's.
Possible plays here:
1st i would invest in another loota squad. I think that would do a lot for you and cover anti air a little better.
Tactically:
Orks are better at shooting than they look. sheer volume is their friend.
killakans and Deffkoptas have shorter ranges though. Options: march them forward to get in range OR... Let them wait for the enemy to come in range and not expose themsevles too early. Which sounds better? If B, then reserves may be your friend. Deffkoptas with buzzsaws are kinda annoying outflankers. With missiles, they can be more annoying to armor. Or just hold them out of sight and use them to contest enemy objectives late game (their strongest play is this. Stay alive and steal stuff at the end. Wait for it...Wait for it...)
Bikes, trukks, looted wagons and battle wagons. Batle wagons throw a big shadow. Move and Flat out move them. Let the trukks hide behind it. Even turn the big tanks sideways if you have to. Most armies can pop just ONE
AV 14 anyways. concede its loss but make its loss worth something: the preservation of the units behind it is key. You can charge the bikes in the next round to harass units to the side like
Dev squads. The looted/battle wagons are just a mobile wall for you in this list i think. turn them at 45 degree angles, dont spend a ton of points on them (maybe a boarding plank!) to minimize what can hit your precious troops behind. Also this slows you down the least possible amount when its time for them to move from behind that looted wagon wreckage that was your big tank.
Lootas and shock attack guns: FIRE. Not much to say here. Kill enemy troops first and foremost. Troops score. They must die.
Your own troops should mostly be focusing on near objectives where they can. let your burna boys as such do the heavty lifint up front and keeping ther enemy occupied and off your ass. defend the lootas back there and give them survivability with the pain boy for as long as you can.
