I usually play a Farsight Bomb list. Last night I played versus my buddy's Wraithknight/Wave Serpent list and it was a savage, savage beating that I took.

We talked about making a combined list that isn't necessarily concerned with taking objectives. It's more about being a total pain in the behind and winning by tabling.

Army List (1850 Points)

Primary Detachement: Tau Empire

Warlord
Commander Farsight
Farsight's Bodyguard Team (6 suits)
Suit 1 w/2x Plasma Rifle, Target Lock
Suit 2 w/2x Plasma Rifle, Target Lock
Suit 3 w/2x Missile Pod, Target Lock
Suit 4 w/2x Missile Pod, Target Lock
Suit 5 w/2x Fusion Blaster, Target Lock
Suit 6 w/Flamer, Vectored Retro-thrusters, Drone Controller, Command and Control Node, Puretide Engram Chip, Multi-spectrum Sensor Suite
12x Gun Drones

Troops
10x Kroot w/1x Kroot Hound
10x Kroot w/1x Kroot Hound

Allied Detachment: Eldar
HQ
Farseer w/Eldar Jetbike, Mantle of the Laughing God

Troops
5x Dire Avengers in a Wave Serpent w/Twin-linked Scatter Laser, Shuriken Cannon
5x Dire Avengers in a Wave Serpent w/Twin-linked Scatter Laser, Shuriken Cannon

Fast Attack
Crimson Hunter Exarch w/2x Starcannons, Marksman's Eye

Heavy Support
Wraithknight

The idea would be to deploy the Bomb via Deep Strike since Farsight's Warlord trait prevents scatter. Also, the Kroot would stay in reserves and Outflank, using the Kroot Hound's Acute Senses to come on wherever they are needed. The Eldar stuff would all start on the table and just try to wreak havoc.

Any ideas for how to make this meaner?

Sniper rounds are an all or nothing upgrade. You can't give it to just one guy.

Other than that the list looks strong. I always worry about putting a farsight bomb in reserve. Yes no scatter DS is amazing however its less amazing when in comes in on turn 4.

It would be better to have shadowsun for the 3d6 thrust move or tiggy/red scorpian guy fot GOI to jump around.

Forest hunter sept ~3500
guardians of the covenant 4th company ~ 6000

Well, if I get rid of the single sniper round, the list is 1849 points. The sniper round is essentially free.

Shadowsun is really nice, but then I have to deploy the bomb on the table in my deployment zone and it will potentially take 1-2 turns of shooting abuse before being effective since other than the missile pods, I have to be within 24" to be even partially effective. Shadowsun can't infiltrate the bomb. That's been beaten to death in You Make Da Call.

Also, taking Shadowsun OR a SM Libby precludes adding the Eldar in any meaningful way, which is kind of the point.

What he means is you can't give only one model a sniper round, it's not an option, you have to give the whole unit the upgrade or no one.

Ah... my bad. For some reason I read it as "any model". You're both right.

Not like one sniper round makes a difference!

I would leave crimson hutners weapons without starcannons. Its main role is as anti air and to establish air superiority, so the extra 2 s8 shots are nice

Looks nasty. I would second the comment on shadowsun though. Having stealth and shrouded all the time is awesome. I think you're also overestimating how long it will take you to get into range. Deploy fairly aggressively in cover, move 6", then 3d6 in the assault phase (average 11.5"), and you're definitely in range turn 2. After that you can spend all game JsJ'ing with pretty extreme mobility.

As for the eldar detachment, yes it works extremely well. 2 durable and mobile scoring units are great and duh waveserpent. My friend has been running two with his tau here of late and it gives me hell. Plenty of high ap from the tau and plenty of volume from the 'dar, it's just a good combo

That list looks really good. I'm going to say leave shadowsun out of the bomb.

Yes the extra cover is nice, but there are plenty of things to remove or degrade those saves. Besides you avoid being out positioned or facing a spread out deployment that would grind on your bomb. Instead you jump in and dominate a given area. That unit is fast enough to make up the space on the board no problem. Yes, if you don't come in till turn four you have a problem. But even on turn three you should be packing plenty of fire power to wreck through your opponent. Plus, you're wraith knight will keep you in the game regardless of when the bomb hits.

Just be sure and play test it before you take it to any tournaments.

wont come in on turn 4 if you take a autarch on a bike with mantle, fusion gun, banshee mask, and laserlance.

I do like the autarch idea. He'd be a good assault unit also.
