At the very head of each Incubi temple, atop a cold obsidian throne before an Alter to long dead Khaine sits the Hierarches. With no exceptions, each has rose through the ranks of the temple through pure skill, cunning and strength, for noble birth means nothing within Khaine's walls. Each Hierarch has abandoned their old lives before the temple and have given themselves over totally to the act of the perfect kill. To rule the murderous is to be the most murderous yourself and the Hierarches live upon the knife's tip, for many believe to rule is to forsake the pursuit of the perfect kill to teach others and many an Incubi have challenged a wizened Hierarch thinking them weak. That was their last mistake, each Hierarch is steeped in thousands of years of Murder and Depravities and they have not forsaken the pursuit of the perfect kill. They are already there.

Hierarch: 110pts

Ws 8 Bs 5 S 4 T 3 W 3 I 7 A 5 Ld 9 Sv 3+ Infantry (Character)

Wargear: Incubus Warsuit
Klaive

Special Rules: Fleet
Power From Pain
Night Vision

Options
The Hierarch may replace his Incubus Warsuit with an Ancient Incubus Warsit (2+ Sv) for 20pts
The Hierarch may replace his Klaive with Demi Klaives for 20pts
The Hierarch may have any of the following power: Murderous Assault (10pts) or Onslaught (15pts)
The Hierarch may take the Mark of Khaine (Gives the Hierarch Hatred) or 10pts
The Hierarch may take a Bloodstone for 15pts
The Hierarch may take a Phantasm Grenade Launcher for 25pts
The Hierarch may make a pact with the Haemonculi (grants the Hierarch a pain token at the start of the game) for 30pts

Taking a Hierarch allows Wyches to be taken as Temple Aspirants, which have the same rules, upgrades and stat line except they lose Combat Drugs and access to Wych Weapons but instead every third member of the squad may exchange all their weapons for a Klaive for 10pts each. Taking this option also removes the Hekatrix upgrade and replaces it with he ability to upgrade an Aspirant to a full Incubus for 15pts who comes with all the normal gear.

What do you think? I have always had a hankering for a full Incubi army and now I can, do you think he is pointed fairly n would you play him?

Why is he WS 8 and have 5 attacks? The special character version stats isn't even that high.

I'd cut the Ancient Incubus Warsuit option; the only Eldar infantry with 2+ armour at all are the Phoenix Lords.

referring to the special characters thing, i would say that the phoenix lords are sad, sad beings. This means that the stats are/should be better. And for the 2+ armour i would agree, but also think shadow field should be a viable option.

Don't get me started on Phoenix Lords, their stats are so poor to what they should be, a Succubus has a higher WS for flip sake. The reason he is WS 8 is because he should be as skilled as a Succubus, this is due to Wyches and Bloodbrides being WS 4 while Incubi are WS 5 meaning they at least have equal or better training so the Hierarch should be of similar skill t a Succubus. Like wise the 5 attacks is so he has the same as a Succubus or Archon who comes wit 4 and a pistol which I also emulated in Wyches against Incubi who has 1 attack plus pistol while the Incubi have 2 base, but I would consider dropping to 4 attacks to give the Succubus the niche with more attacks.

I also feel the 2+ save is justified, because each an every Hierarch is akin to a Phoenix Lord. Each has founded their own temple and trained their own dynasty of murderers having battled for thousands of years. So I think that if their is Incubus suits which grant a 2+ save are out there, I see no reason why they can't get it. Think of it as how Eldar Exarch's sometimes have a better save then their aspect, think of the Hierarch as a Klaivex (Exarch) on steroids. I would also be against the shadowfield idea, that would kind of negate the Archon's niche a bit as the Character killer, this guy as elite killer and the Succubus as the cheap killer.

*Bump *

thinking I should lower Iniative to 6 and lower attacks to 4 as well as dropping the pact with the Haemonculi option and putting him down to 90pts, what do you think?

Stats and cost look reasonable as-is but I'd agree with dropping the Haemonculi pact.
