hey guys. now I get the feeling I am reading this wrong but, a chaos space marine has 1 attack base. every chaos space marine has 1 CCW. each also has a bolt pistol. every model in the squad can then buy a CCW. they can then swap their bolters for another CCW. if I am right this gives every chaos marine in the squad 4 attacks, 5 on the charge.
1 base+ 1 for pistol and CCW + 1 for another CCW + 1 for another CCW + 1 for charge.
this means that A full strength chaos space marine squad (20 models) on the charge, that is an incredible 100 ATTACKS!
correct me if I am wrong.

You're wrong. Think about it... Even if you could, how would having two extra CCWs on top of the bolt pistol and CCW you are already using grant you extra attacks?

You gain an attack for having 1 additional CCW with a pistol (or vis versa), no more. How many arms do they have? I mean, it's chaos and all, but that's just daft.
Only the champ has a CCW in stock, the rest buy them or replace their boltguns.
Also, you only gain a single attack for pistol+CCW, no more for additional weapons.

A champ can have 5 attacks on the charge through MoK though...

Sorry ignore me I misread the army entry.
In reality it is: 1 base + for pistol and CCW brought OR replacing the bolter + 1 for charge. Meaning a 20 man unit has 60 on the charge and not 100.

You do have to buy the CC weapon for chaos marine - only the champion has it by default. Arguably worth it, since it doubles their damage output in melee.

Ah, if only the rule were +1A per pistol close combat weapon you had. Some older codices don't have the "replace" language in there, which means you could really rack up on attacks for certain units.
