I'm modelling Necrons and instead of the green rods i wanted Purple ones so changed the house colours of my army to Purple/Silver, Purple/Gold and I can't find a good mix or technique to paint a neon glowing purple effect.


Please help me

You can search for purple acrylic rods on Amazon or eBay. You could also use clear ones and purple LEDs, but that might be a bit much.

Thanks for both your responses didn't expect such a quick reply .

I have thought about the clear rod method before but thought it just a tad too much work

but that link should help some very informative diagrams !

Obviously the colour changes, but heres a quick and easy way.

Basecoat white, wash 2-3 times with green.
This is how i paint my warpstone:



Or a more shiny look like my screamers:
Basecoat silver (mithril/runefang) then wash with purple once or twice:
