I was wondering if there was some rule or FAQ that super heavies couldnt deploy on a skyshield, seems beyond OP.

Resin Printer (minaitures) is a 4K printer with one of the largest build volumes available for a resin printer (192mm x 120mm x 245mm) with an amazing .01mm resolution! This professional printer is one of the best resin printers on the market!

FDM Printer (terrain) also has one of the largest build volumes available for an FDM printer (400mm x 400mm x 450mm) and has an amazing ,05mm build accuracy.

They can deploy onto it if it is in your deployment zone, just like any other unit.

That said, hardly OP.

4++ saves avail you little against Str D shooting attacks, which will be coming your way if you are fielding Superheavies

But since you can deploy them in standard games, if you put a superheavy on a skyshield your opponent would be hard pressed to take it out. Not many people in a tournament would feild enough anti AV to take down a super heavy with a 4+ invul.

It's only a 4+ save.

Knights have invulnerable saves. Killed them nonetheless.

Khornemower has an invuln. Didn't save him.

It makes it a bit more difficult, to be sure, but far from impossible.

Also it creates a hefty dead-zone close to the superheavy where it can't draw LOS due the elevation and the walls of the platform (some SH more than others), and limits the utility of the SH, as it's tied in one place for the whole game if it wants to keep it's inv save.

A more effective use (assuming you are loyalist) is to ally DA, take a field generator biker and run it behind the superheavy, thus allowing it to tool around the place shooting stuff.

@Ryan_A I thought so too, until I tried it multiple times with different superheavies.
1)A Stormlord w/4xLCs and 15 Missle Launchers destroyed by a Wraitknight with 2+ rerollables because its foot was in terrain. 2+ rerolls beats 4++ and superheavy.
2) Hellhammer on a skyshield failed evey invul save, died to lascannons with tank hunters in 2 turns.
I've found the best use for a Super heavy for me is to tankshock everything on the way to my enemies most concentrated models then explode and kill everything.
Oh yeah unless it's a Storm Raven that meltas me in the back at point blank range killing the Baneblade and surviving the D blast....

Sometimes I wonder if its not my strategies but my gak rolling that is resposible for my W/L record.

Can any flier be deployed on a Skyshield with the Stronghold change? If so, can a Manta be deployed on it?

Does the Manta have Hover mode?

Well theres common sense, how could the shield affect if not the whole thing is innside the shielding!? I belive the stronghold asault includes this. Gonna recheck.

The Manta already has a 4++ built in. The question is can you start the game with your manta already deployed on the table and ready to shoot things turn one.

«Upgrade:
Ready for Takeoff: A Skyshield Landing Pad can be upgraded to have this special rule. When deploying your army, you can deploy one of your Flyers with the Hover type on top»

The rule doesnt mention super heavy flyers but flyers.
Then sgain this can be argued over and over again wich is rigth.

That would make sense, though it makes me wonder what rules/abilities that would affect Flyers that don't apply to Super Heavy Flyers.

A topic for another thread.
