Firstly, I want to pack a Crone in my army. But I am absolutely no fan of the Harpy model. The Terrorgheist model I love, looks vaguely Tyranidish, is roughly the same size, could very easily have its head replaced with that of a TMC, and my local has little to no WFB so its not even an issue really. Just looking for other suggestions - how to go about making this thing look like a proper scourge of the Universe as opposed to the graveyard - any and all feedback is welcome.

P.S.A. I won't read your posts if you break it into a million separate quotes and make an eyesore of it.

I too dislike the Crone model, but because it already has the basis of tyranid design, why not just modify it? Or bash the two kits together, if you've got the money and inclination. I personally ebayed spare Trygon/mawloc parts, maybe you can do the same with Terrorgheist.

Looking at the Terrorgheist model, I'd mount the torso upside down (so the nice back rib detail would become front ribs instead) - but without seeing the parts, I don't know how easily the wing/leg joints can be flipped. Presuming it can be done, you'd then just need to add armour to the new back, presumably from greenstuff.

Do like Ciang suggested, also add on the "back" Carnis extra carapace.

You should also replace the head, or you can rework the head, but having a dragon skull or a bat head, is miles away from Nids identity, and will require way more work then neccesary.

So yeah the only bits you will end up using is the body and the wings and you will have to add all the rest from Nids bits, thats why i'm really thinking that it isn't worth the hassle.

So here is what I'm looking at at the moment. Not finished yet, will be adding a few more things (such as Vents across the spines), finishing up the base, and touching up the paint job (I'm not the best of painters regardless) as well as glossing some of the fleshy bits (incl wings). Hell it's not even fully dry at the moment. Sorry about poor photo quality.

Any opinions?

Whoops just realised I failed to include the tail in any of these shots. Here you go. It's actually one of the barbs off a Haruspex tongue.

Love it. From beyond the nether, H.R. Geiger is smiling on you for that conversion.

For the Lion and Terra!

Because nothing in the galaxy is black and white, Mankind views the Space Marines as a last resort. The last line. When all else fails. They take up the burden. The noble defenders of Mankind. The last hope.

Wow, that looks amazing. I wasn't sold on the idea initially, but I think you pulled it off really well.
