BS3 options with skyfire: AV12 (before Jink)
Iontide = str7 AP2 x3 = 1.5 hits, .5 HP lost
broadisde = str7 AP4 x4 = 3 hits, 1 HP lost
MP/MP crisis suit = str7 ap4 x4 = 2 hits, 2/3 HP lost
Skyray = awesomesauce
BurstTide (regular) str6 ap4 x8 = 4 hits 2/3 HP lost
BurstTide (nova) str6 ap4 x12= 6 hits, 1 PEN
Quad gun str7 AP4 x4 = 3hits, 1HP lost
BS 5 Quad gun = 4hits (*assuming), 1 and 1/3rd HP lost
just saying Aun'Va is saddened everytime a commander puts skyfire on a iontide. They are much better suited to anti infantry roles. EWO = good great, don't deepstrike terminators anywhere I can see them, VT = not a good choice on them, compared to any other option listed. Note the broadside up there is just a single broadside.
broadside x3 without skyfire: 12 shots = 3 and 2/3 hits, 1.22222whatever fraction that is, of a HP lost.
STILL BETTER THAN AN IONTIDE.

EDIT: Also you can get into the psycology of forceing your opponent to Jink and just look at the number of hits. Once again the iontide is not that great IF we look at more hits = more likely to cause a jink.

This is my 1850 list and is VERY simular to yours. My suggestions would basicly be my list but merging the two to suit your playstyle would be up to you. I quick run down of some reasoning:
Velocity trackers:
Iontides
IMHO are best for anti infantry roles - anti heavy infantry that is. with plasma and ripple fire that is 7 ap2 shots or a large blast at ap2 plus 4 more shots. The burst tide on the other hand I think is slightly better at combating fliers and specificly for
FMC or less than AV12 a far better option for getting a VT.
Plus you do have two skyrays.. how much anti flyer are you expecting to need?
AV14
Land raiders and Russes. Commander with the Iontide for a nova charged ordinance blast can take care of russes. Or a couple of riptides for smash attacks (and the fusion blaster) can take care of a charging Land raider (only once ever have I seen someone not rush forward with them). AV13 is not a problem with missile pods, weight of fire can easily glance them to death at least.
Plus having a dedicated suicide fusion blaster suits just seems soo much like a waste. I know they can be incredibly helpful, but more often not reliable by the time you want them anyways, and with them split up thats more kill points you are just trading. IF they get on the board when AND where you need them.
Pathfinders
Not going first proabably means I lost first blood anyways, I use these guys as bait plain and simple. List is kinda light on troops so adding in another outflanking kroot squad for one point less is an option.
Could point out more, but there are my general thoughts at least.
EDIT: Where would you put your ethereal? with a kroot squad? My list has him in the SDT for a improved cover save and easy hiding out of
LOS shenanigans. Thats and Easy extra
VP if your not careful, which applies to both lists, but I like my chances slightly better?
