Id like to start by saying I don't own any cents and have never used them. However 2 regular weaknesses I hear about cents (barring the range of grav cents), are that they need a tanking character/wound sponge and also that a plasma drop/deepstrike really hurts them.
So rather than investing in tigurius for the likely 4++ (or a DA power generator) and a tanking chap master. Why not go cheap and just buy a 43pt power armoured, plasma syphon wielding ordo xenos inquisitor and a further 33pts for another power armoured inquisitor?
Adds 6 t5 wounds to the unit and prevents the plasma drop being effective (due to any plasma needing to snap fire). Cents LOS any st6 shots, inquisitors weather the small arms fire.
What it doesn't do is protect against st10 ordinance, give you an invuln or provide the unit with a close combat monster. What it does do is save you 250-300+ pts.
Worth consideration?

it's a novel approach, but it seems like a dubious use for an inquisitor and only protects you from one flavor of high AP shooting. that said, adding in a mastery level for prescience has it's merits...

I don't think I've ever lost a cent to AP2 shooting, but that might just be my local meta. my centurions tend to die from one of two things: either weight of small arms fire or close combat. close combat is by far my biggest worry. no overwatch and low number of attacks makes it really easy to neuter your 300+ point squad with even the crappiest of attacking units (10-man cultist squads, etc.). they don't have to kill you, they just have to tar pit you for a few turns. inquisitors aren't really close combat machines, so they aren't buying you much protection from cc. your expensive CM, on the other hand, can both wreck face in close combat *and* tank shooty wounds (if he's standing in the right spot, anyway).

Personally, not a fan of the plasma siphon from the Inquisition supplement. The version from the Grey Knights is the only version worth taking, and unfortunately THOSE Inquisitors wouldn't be able to join the Centurions. HOWEVER, as long as the GK Inquisitor keeps all the plasma weapons in his bubble, the Cents will still benefit from the reduced BS of their enemies, regardless of their affiliation with the Inquisitor.

Still, I think I'd prefer just keeping my Cents in cover.

I don't have the GK codex. What is different about their syphon?

The inquisitors are indeed just there to weather the small arms. Any st6+ will go onto the cents. As you state it doesn't help against assaults, but won't you have other units to deal with that if saving hundreds of points?

The syphon from the GK codex was FAQ to include pulse weapons (rifles, carbines, burst cannons etc.) which makes it a giant feth you to tau and eldar plasma missles as well. The inquisition codex does not do this but still protects against most plasma.

From my understanding of the wording it's suppose to work just like the grey knights one.

"We have all and none. Death better come to the other bastard first." - SSG Alton, 19th Valerian Light Infantry Regiment

"With iron and fire the beast shall be lain low at the hands of the Hunters whose home is under the Bloodmoon." - Bloodmoon Hunters Chapter

"Bring on the Angels of Blood and Darkness as thy descend from the heavens to smite our enemies. Let the Wolves of war rend and tear our foes to pieces. And we of the Bloodmoon Hunters shall bring the iron and fire as our vehicles crush all that oppose us under our treads." - Tech-Captain of the Bloodmoon Hunters

The wording is pretty explicit that it doesn't. I think it says it only applies to plasma weapons as described on page 57 of the BRB. Which excludes the Tau Plasma Rifles, all Tau Pulse weapons, and the Eldar Plasma Missiles. Unfortunately, I don't own the Inq codex, I've only seen copies, so I'm going off memory here.

I own it and it's pretty vague just says plasma weapons. There is no other reference in the book, and there is no Inquistor faq even though it needs it.
