So I bought one of these buggers but it looks way too imperial for my Orks, and since it's limited or whatever I don't know if I want to modify it. I was wondering if anyone has a really good idea on how to build an Orky generator, and if I could copy it. My own imagination only deals with pistons.

My plan is to build one out of 4 of the Tenth Doctor Sonic Screwdrivers that light up that cost $24.99. I'd say go with the eleventh doctor cuz it's green and slap extra plates onto them. Put them on a orky base roughly the size of the Limited edition one, and have grots instead of servitors in it moving stuff around.

Make one out of Necron, Tau, and Imperial bits and what might be leftover in the VSG box, if anything is. It's more orky and would definitely look cooler. That said, you could also just hoard the VSG for a few months and then sell it on eBay for the bits and plasticard to make a better one.

Lol, but selling things on ebay is way too complicated, maybe I'll give it as a gift to a friend or something.

Anyway yeah, something with lights sounds pretty cool, would have an easy way to keep track of shields then. One thing that popped up in my head is grot and squig powered treadmill dynamos. It could even be a little diorama type thing, with a big mek around to manage the business of "da defleksur". Maybe like a dish type projector like in Return of the Jedi

Don't assemble that void shield bro!!!! Sell it to a fanboy. Make something orky. You'll have gas money and a cool orky void shield.

As there was what... 1000 of these total... the ork in me says to loot it and make it "propa". Not because I know the rules or anything else for it... but only because it will surely make people groan in disbelief that you did it. I would surely need to have a better view of the kit to get an idea of suggestions for it.

Then again, the Bad Moon in me says you should keep it and sell it for a tidy profit... utilizing the revenue to bolster the boyz.

Assemble it completely wrong maybe? Stuff upside down and sideways, put grots and squigs in it.
