The backstory:

The Heralds are a 23rd Founding chapter drawn from the Iron Hands chapter. They were sired to safeguard the boarders southern fringes of Segmentum Tempestus and the forgeworlds that lay there, on the very edge of the light of the Astronomican. They share much in common with their parent chapter in terms of organisation and philosophy. They too abhor mortal weakness, heavily use bionics and revere all things mechanical.

Clan Company Khroniis has a bloodied and honoured history, having fought in the the Bellrath Crusade, the Angevin Crusade, the Gothic War, the defence of Gryphonne IV. They are known as 'The Tempered Brethren'.

Battle brother Castrial Thoros

A hail of shells fell down upon the Tactical Squad. A storm of shrapnel shot through amongst them all, shredding ceramite, iron and bone. Unfazed by the blast, they advanced onwards into the thick fog of war and on Sergeant Kraeus’s mark split down into 2 combat squads. Castrial took to the lead and signalled to his 4 brothers towards a rusted and ruined manufactorum. Sprinting along the shadows they slide down against a fallen pillar, levelling their bolters and taking aim.

Veteran Sergeant Kraeus Atrorr (Command Squad veteran)

The air hung heavy with the stench of charred flesh, the sky split with streaks of lightning and the ground lay drenched in the blood the foul xenos. Sergeant Kraeus turned to the few of his battle brothers that remained still standing after the ambush. Twenty five of his kinsmen lay dead before him, the carcasses of hundreds of the Orks stretched across the sloping ridges of the valley. Against heavy losses, their objective had been completed and the xeno forces on Ayr’aan were shattered, beaten scarred. They had now reached the extraction point.
‘Those who die in the emperor’s name never die in vain. With me my brothers!’ Kraeus bellowed, to a chorus of cheers and the roar of Thunderhawk engines from above.

After changing around my army list, I've been doing some tinkering. I'm one of the slowest painters in the world though, but new things will be coming soon...
