A few previews to give a feel for the book and what we have tried to bring out with this one. Im really happy with how this book turned out and its very different to late war!

Looks great! I just got my overlord book yesterday and can testify to the quality of these books. Appreciate your efforts!

On an Express Elevator to Hell!!

Looks like a very nice book. May I ask how you approached this to try and get a different feel to late war, in terms of how the game plays? The command/control issue for the Russians sounds intriguing.

This has officially smashed away the last of my resistance to having a go with this, or at the very least getting the rulebook.

Finally, are you going to have a presence at Salute next weekend? And if so do you have a demonstration game planned?

No game at Salute this year, we didnt get a table this year.

Warwick will be on the PSC stand though, im not attending this year as its not a show I like very much, rather save my time for Bovington. A wargames show in a tank museum is worth flying over for.

How is it different to late war?

Well apart from the lists and equipment, the special rules change the dynamic. We have the command problems of the Russians, versus the more dynamic Germans and their ability to react faster. Add to that better German communication at various levels in the game and the whole theme is very different to late war. Lots of other tweaks but you get the idea, surgical Germans against an unweildy Russian horde, but one that can give the enemy a bloody nose.

Its a hard period to recreate in a manner that gives it its true historical feel, but I think we have done pretty well... but I would say that!

Thanks very much for the reply Big P. Definitely very intrigued by this, will be sure to check out the Battlegroup stuff at the PSC stand - and no doubt try and meet Mr. Kinrade if I get the opportunity!

Tell Warwick, that Piers sent you and you want the full rundown on why Battlegroup is worth getting and why he still hasnt beaten me at a single game of Battlegroup since we have been writing it...

Just look for a 6' 6" Viking lurking around the PSC stand.
