What is everyone's understanding of the term "Deathstar" as it is used in 40k? I think of it in the analogy to Star Wars, being a large unit, that essentially destroys everything in its path. But some people seem to use the term to describe any list they find cheesy or spammy. Am I wrong? What are your thoughts?

You had it right. Large expensive unit with extreme offensive potential and very difficult to take down.

Its also funny to note how 6th edition is the beast that spawned these builds thanks to wound allocation. Deathstars werent present in 5th or earlier editions, unless you count Draigo and his Paladin friends with the 4+ FNP apothecary from the 5th ed days as the first of its kind.

GW is scared of girls. Why do you think they have so much trouble sculpting attractive female models? Because girls have cooties and the staff at GW don't like looking at them for too long because it makes them feel funny in their naughty place.

Apparently you also must have slept through the old days of the 50-60+ strong, 4++ re-rolled Ulthwe Seer Congress...

And Nob Bikers...
And 'Crusherstars...
Or maybe 3++ Hammernatorstars...

Deathstars are not a new edition, but thanks to ally shenanigans & character tanking they are much more brutal than in the past.
