Title pretty much says it all... Looks better in the flesh, I so need picture taking lessons lol. I will be associating it with my Dark Angel army, fluff being the Knight is from one of the Dark Angels recruiting worlds and sometimes is called upon to fight alongside the Angels. The engine is called Warspite, mostly freehands with some decals for the Imperial Aquilla and wings, I will add the Dark Angel chapter symbol to the knee pads and groin flag.

The colour scheme is my family crest colours and the crest itself is a modernised version of my family crest and the motto is Fidem Servabo (I will keep faith) The knight is magnetised for changeability including the masks.

Minimal weathering applied, just a bit of grime and paint chippings, I wanted a revered and praised relic look as opposed to a grimdark walking tank that no one gives two hoots for.

That Knight is quite wonderful! I particularly like the subtle but realistic weathering, especially the carbon scorching near the model's vents.

Great work!

Wow, very nice. You've done an excellent job making the colors nice and smooth and giving them a very subtle but effective weathered look.

That's a thing of beauty. The freehand's really well done and I love the way you've done the melta cannon. Was it a pain to magnetise the two different weapons?

Awesome work mate!

It has just enough weathering to look battle-tested but not discarded. Fantastic!

It seemed like the thing to do... my father in his earlier years was a ancestry nut, and had the coat of arms done and researched back to the 14th century... I figured if we'd been around over 600 years then why not another 40k

Aside from the fantastic painting, i really like that you incorporated your personal family heraldry into the model with the crest and colors. That was a really cool idea.

That blued steel heat effect on the guns is very nicely done. How'd you achieve that?

The heat effect was done with Minitaire ghost tints and GW sepia wash. I think you could probably do the same with inks and glazes

Woah, that's an absolutely gorgeous paint job! You've definitely achieved the look of a well cared for battle machine that has still met some battle.

And I love the theme of using your own family crest. It adds a level of personalization to the model that you rarely ever see. Amazing work!

What do you call a lasgun with a laser sight? Twin-linked.
