I don't want to start a Forge World debate here (but I am sure this will turn into one. It's kinda inevitable). I just noticed this article over on 3++ and enjoyed reading it. I also got a kick out of the 2nd comment, so make sure you read until the very end . Oh, and for the sake of your sanity click the 'x' on that chatbox in the top right. Trying to read an article with 'pop...pop...poppoppop' in the background is assured frustration.

I disagree on one of the article's points about Forgeworld: Players do not know the rules. How is this such an issue? It's not like Forgeworld's rules are any different than stuff you'd find in a Codex. If you are confused about them just ask to see the IA book.
Otherwise it's an interesting if flawed article.
Edit:
I just realized that Games Workshop proper is starting to turn into Forgeworld. High prices, books and models only being available online, poorly thought out rules and poor balance.
Just without the nice army lists and models.

Ultimately the authors point rests on a fallacial appeal to authority in that he's saying "Until GW flat out says it's 40k, I'm going to say it's not". Well, it says so in the FW books published by GW with GW copyrights written by people employed by GW...and GW they probably didn't set up a whole subdepartment and production line, employing a dozen or more people full time, just to make stuff they don't consider part of 40k

IRON WITHIN, IRON WITHOUT.
New Heavy Gear Log! Also...Grey Knights!
The correct pronunciation is Imperial Guard and Stormtroopers, "Astra Militarum" and "Tempestus Scions" are something you'll find at Hogwarts. |

Did Fulgrim Just Behead Ferrus?

Outdated article is outdated. They bang the drum of the "OP Lucius Drop Pod," despite the fact that its rules were changed to disallow assaulting on the turn it arrives. I would have to check the dates, but I highly suspect that change occurred even before this article was written.
Although, I do think that life would be a lot simpler if Games Workshop, as Game Workshop, said Forgeworld is a part of the game.
I love Forgeworld. They are the last bastion of creativity and cool stuff left at GW.
