What dose everyone think of the official GW video painting guides?

Honestly, I am a big fan. It's a good preview for the models if you want to see them up close and, honestly, it looks really easy to get to the studio army.

Here are the videos for the Scions:

I can't wait to buy one of these, open the box, peek at the sprues, and then put it back in the box and store it unpainted for years.

This Is Where the Fish Lives

I watched the Scions video and the Knight video and honestly, they weren't that bad. A new painter could definitely learn a couple things from them.

Of course, the cynics will dismiss them instantly, but overall I was fairly impressed.

I watched the imperial knight one and it gave some good tips on how to out it together, very useful I thought

Hadn't seen these ones yet so i'll have a watch now.

The knight one's were pretty damn good though.
Even though i have no interest in following a painting guide, these will help out alot of people, namely those just getting into the hobby.

Big thumbs up for GW on these vids though, nice to see some content coming from them

I can only agree with the above, they are much better than I expected and they are at a good level for people getting in to the hobby.

The results are very achievable in the steps presented and would actually be a step up from most armies I see on the tabletop. I also like the fact that a palette is used and that they talk about thinning and such.

Overall GW is on one hand so easy to hate, and on the other easy to love... I hate them for that too...

It's not their old conversion guides, but I really like them! It's nice to see a hobby video and not a "Look at these flashy new guys!" video in my subscription box.

Love em, praise GW team for these, informative and always nice to see a painting tutorial and nice techniques you can pick up.

Aye, these would have been great when I was just getting into things. Even if you don't like their colour choices, the mechanics, techniques and so on would be excellent for beginners.

Though all the help in the world won't make me anywhere near competent with bloody transfers.

Therefore, I conclude, Valve should announce Half Life 2: Episode 3.

This is a huge step back in the right direction for them.

They really need to get one of these done for all the races common units. It would help them so much particularly with new blood, new faces do often struggle with the painting side of things become frustrated and stop trying. Simple guides like this do nothing but raise the bar of the avg paint job
While watching it I noticed theyve done some for the Imperial Knight kit too. Theyre doing allsorts of things differently ever since that bad financial report

I watched the videos for the Taurox (not sure about the spelling there), and the last three models I painted (three RW bikes) were by far the best I've done. I'm currently stripping an old Rhino I botched the paint job on, looking forward to seeing my second attempt. As has been stated several times, I think they're great for people like me in the beginners level of painting.
