Can I still field these with the Astra Mil codex? I am getting back into the game after years and everything is so confusing now.

on the forum. Obviously

Vultures were never part of the guard codex. They were forge world units, iirc.

You do get Valkyries and Vendettas, which are similar.

Sorry I knew that I thought you guys would magically read my mind.... I should have stated can I still use those Imperial Armor units in the new codex?

Yes you can, they take up whatever slot the book says they take for the imperial guard codex.

Don't let the name change stop you or other people who are trying take advantage of technicalities. You are totally ment and allowed to use a 40k approved fw unit that was made with 6th edition already in mind.

Oh sorry, brain fart.

Yes, you may still use IA units in your guard (well, Asta now) army.

If you're wanting to use a vulture with AM, you might want to wait a bit until FW makes a update with rules that fit with the new codex.

It was already made with 6th edition in mind. Plus enjoy waiting as we all know how quick and responsive these companies are.

Ok thanks guys I appreciate it. I must say with all these new sub codex and name changes it is a bit confusing.

I wouldn't expect much of a change. It already has 6th edition rules, and the new codex didn't make any major changes (like reducing AV) that would apply to the Vulture. FW might take the opportunity to fine-tune the point costs a bit, but that's pure speculation. And I certainly wouldn't stop using a unit just because it or its upgrades might get cheaper or more expensive.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.

I, and most other people, would have no problem using the vulture with AM as if it was IG. However, be aware that someone, somewhere, will probably pull the "it says IG yet you are AM" argument. Then again, it doesn't sound like the best game to play if people do that to you.

I'm probably going to leave my vulture for a few games so that I can try out the new stuff. It will come back though, especially if I ever finish painting it. I got distracted by Scions.

So if I wanted to use it in my regular AM army, it would just be for points cost as Fast Attack? Would I be allowed to use it with the IA upgrades as well?
Sorry, I like the idea of using one and it's my first time putting FW in my list.

The thought of a points reduction make my mouth water. Doubt it though, they are pretty balanced as they are atm.

Yes upgrades from its IA entry would still be allowed atm, till forgeworld release a FAQ/updated lists

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

In that case, feel free to play AM with IG allies, for those juicy 130 pt Vendettas and 160 pt Manticores.

Tier 1 is the new Tactical.
